I can easily see Vulture come up with major schemes and plans that reaches above simple bank robbing stuff.

That and he's one of the smarter villains in Spidey's rogue gallery. He's definitely not a simpleton like Max Dillon and the aerial battles could also be a positive.

I've always thought of Tombstone as an enforcer rather than the head of an organization. That's the only reason I don't like Tombstone in Spectacular Spider-Man (cartoon). The 90s cartoon had him working for Silvermane, which I thought worked well.

Anyone notice how Goblin is kinda like a tricked out version of the Joker.

Add that to the Spectacular Spiderman suit (from the cartoon) and it work pretty well on screen.

With Vulture, I'd go with his Spectacular Spider-Man look, just change the red to green, to make him closer to the comic.

As for his motivation, take a page from Spectacular and it's vengeance against Norman for stealing his plans for Falcon's tech (instant connection to the MCU).

I never made such a comment. My preference for Isaacs actually comes from the opposite side of things: I think Cranston would be incredible as Green Goblin, but Isaacs embodies Norman better.

OK, I must be losing my mind. I went back to find the posts related to this and I can't find your comment or my response (maybe it was on another thread and was dragged here?). I could have swore I saw a post (and I attributed it to you) that said Cranston would be a great Norman, but couldn't see him as the Goblin. In response, I posted a clip from Breaking Bad with Cranston under the house cracking up. Now I can't find either post. If it's a mix-up from another thread, and you never made that comment, my apologies!

Because it`s probable they will want to keep Kingpin Daredevil`s nemesis from a storytelling perspective. I`m not a huge fan of Tombstone either (I`d rather have Silvermane), but he can be Underworld Big Bad just as effectively as Kingpin.

I see Kingpin being the big crimelord of New York in the MCU, so he necessarily bleed into Spidey films. He should have at least a presence in Spidey films, if not the main antagonist.

Eventually, there should be a big Gang War, either in the movies or Netflix and Spider-Man and Daredevil team-up.

Plus, if this movie is called Spectacular Spider-Man like most have expected and rumored. Tombstone being a Mob boss would be a great homage to the Cartoon.

Never confirmed it will be called Spectacular, but I'm pretty sure Greg Weisman & Co. wanted to use Kingpin at the time, but didn't have the rights, so they substituted him with Tombstone. Now Kingpin is available in the MCU, so he can be used. I'd like to see a big Gang War with Kingpin, Silvermane, Tombstone, and Hammerhead all fighting it out. Be cool if you could include the Rose, Hobgoblin, and Jack O Lantern, like in the 80's!

Aw cool, new member. I agree, Tombstone would be a good replacement for Kingpin. It's either him or Hammerhead, since Kingpin is on Daredevil.

Again, no reason with this shared world that Kingpin isn't a threat in both franchises. Just make Spider-Man more distracted by super villains to concentrate on Kingpin (again, ala Spectacular) and have Daredevil focus (obsess) on Kingpin.

I can confirm this. Weisman discussed this very topic in the first podcast he did regarding TSSM. He originally wanted/planned to use Kingpin but was denied access due to the rights issues.

Thanks. When I said not confirmed, I meant Spectacular for thr new MCU Spider-Man movies.

OK, just checked. It was in the casting thread and it was Barry Parker who made the comment. My apologies.

The better cast Ron Pearlman as Tombstone and Peter Dinklage as Hammerhead...I always imagined Hammerhead as a short fella.

Dinklage as Hammerhead? LOL there's short and then there's midget size. If you pictured Hammerhead short then you're thinking Danny DeVito size, not a midget. Imagine the laughs if Dinklage went charging at Spidey with his flat top hammer head lol.

Yeah, DeVito sounds about right. I just wanna see Spidey crack short jokes only for Hammerhead to put him in his place.

That's always how I've thought of him as well. A sort of legendary hitman that is whispered about amongst the underworld, but few people have ever actually seen him and lived.

Well I imagine everyone would be okay with Hammerhead and/or Silvermane being the crime bosses in the new Spider-Man Films?

In most cases franchises end after the 3rd movie, so for me the list of Spiderman villains shrinks based on them not being able to include all of them in just 3 movies. I want to see Venom and Carnage most of all, but not as full on villains for the first movie (I do think Eddie Brock should be introduced as a supporting character right off the bat though).

Based on the assumption that there will be 3 solo movies and a couple Avengers team-ups, I want to see the heavy hitters, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom and Carnage. And honestly, I'm not that interested in most of the others. I like those 4, plus Kraven and Lizard. Don't care that much about the rest.

Oho, there will be way more than three Solo movies my friend. You can bet on that.

Tombstone is black albino though. I wouldn't mind seeing Perlman in a role, but it wouldn't be a good idea to cast him as Tombstone.

I'd like either Mysterio, Scorpion or Vulture. I'd prefer Mysterio the most out of these three.

Most people want Mysterio because most good villains have been in movie now, and not many really great ones left to see.

We have Kraven, Vulture, Shocker, Jackal, Hammerhead, Tombstone, Silverman, Silversable, the list does go on.

If only the Spot was more popular. That'd be a visual masterpiece.

You're welcome. I was aware that you meant "not confirmed" regarding the title. But maybe that's my fault since I started off my post with "I can confirm this."

Most people want Mysterio because most good villains have been in movie now, and not many really great ones left to see.

He does have a great amount of potential though. Not only from a visual perspective--he's got to be a SFX creator's wet dream. The possibilities with him in that regard would be endless. Mysterio is interesting enough as a villain and poses a psychological threat to Spider-Man. I'm not sure I agree about him being the main antagonist for the first movie, though I'd eventually like to see him on screen. People clamoring for Mysterio has been going on since the Raimi days.

There are some Mysterio naysayers that tend to use these arguments against

"He's lame."

"Illusions what can they do?"

Mysterio is actually one of Spidey's more dangerous foes. He is capable of anything. Playing simple tricks on the mind, can lead to any kind off danger. Mysterio turning gigantic, may be an illusion, but its still capable of killing Spider-Man. So Spider-Man fighting an illusion, can potentially cause harm to his mind and make the experience so real, it could kill him. Plus he's often made Spider-man think that he was insane and losing his mind.

He's basically to Spider-man as Scarecrow is to Batman.

Mysterio is great villain for a movie after Spidey already experienced tragedy in his life which had great emotional impact on him, like Gwen dying. So he is messing with his head, showing him illusion, first Ben, then Gwen. Just for his personal use so he stay out of his way.

But how this version of Spidey wont have origin story movie who is focusing on Ben dying and responsability, and we probably wont see Gwen immediatly as rumored MJ should appear. It would be shame to waste such great character and potential. But yh, I want to see Mysterio on big-screen sooner than later.

I think Kraven is best choice for first movie along Shocker for instance. Theme of the movie: The Hunter Becomes The Hunted. Kraven comes to New York to investigate after reporters of Daily Bugle write about meance. And during that time we see Spidey dealing with couple of thugs and bandits, cleaning streets of New York including Shocker. Spidey hunts Shocker and in same time Kraven hunts Spider-man. You could also include Norman hired Kraven just to investigate this Spider-man guy to see how much threat he could be in not so long future. And Norman (Green Goblin) also give Shocker tehnology to make ruckus the city just to draw out Spidey in first place. Also at post credit scene from Shocker after he get caught we get confession about this guy who wear mask of goblin who give him a pumpking bomb as invitiaton for his criminal organization.

But again everything depends how they will introduce Spider-man in Civil War and how this will lead into his first solo movie.
