It's all a guess at this point.
I think everyone dies, and then no one dies. Except for Thanos. And his minions.
Honestly, at this point, it'd be more of a surprise if Steve Rogers doesn't die. Same with Loki. They both tried it, a few times, and it didn't stick. So even if they tried to depict any death scene with as much finality as they possibly could for either of those two, a part of me would still be thinking, "Nice try guys, I know it's not gonna last..." and be forever waiting for them to show up again.![]()
What if it's Thor? He'd be the least likely Avenger to actually die. But he's got no home, if the trailers are accurate he has no people to rule any longer, he lost Jane a while ago... He might be in the frame of mind for an ultimate sacrifice play in the end. Battle of the Titans, er, sorta, him being a "god" and all...
Now I shall try to read the rest of this thread. Hope I didn't just repeat what others said.
(Ha. That rhymed.)
it did! Yeah, I am with you on a lot of this- Every time something gets released that screams "Loki dies" "Steve dies" "Tony dies" ... I up their chances of survival by 1%. There won't be any surprises if there aren't ... surprises, right?
I only got 8 pages into the thread. That's a lot of death to take in all in one go. But, now I'm thinking what if it's all the original founding Avengers? Cap, Tony, Thor & Hulk. They do it "as a team" in IW4 because Steve and Tony finally put aside their differences for the good of the world. I didn't include Natasha or Hawkeye simply because they sorta latched on as Avengers uninvited.Tragically, Nat will probably help them do whatever it is they're planning, knowing they'll probably all die. Hawkeye will be too angry over the loss of his family to be weepy about what they're planning. He'll be Mr. Full of Vengence, "go kick his ass" about it. But then Bruce falls back to Earth and lives, cuz he's cursed like that and hates he was unable to die along with his friends, but never turns into the Hulk again. He's just simply run out of anger.
Back on Earth it'll turn out Pepper is pregnant (hey, it can happen), and Jane, feeling both grief and guilt for breaking up with Thor, finds his hammer near where Bruce landed...
(I'm so just making this all up....)
But that frees up everyone else to go on with Phase 4 and opens the door for Bucky or Falcon to be Captain America, (my vote is Sam while Bucky has his own adventures, maybe in space because he can't stand being on Earth without Steve...and occasionally has run-ins with Loki who's now a little messed up after Thor's died and Bucky is the only one that had even a smidgen of a connection with Thor via Steve, and that's good enough for Loki to obsess over.)
Of the space-faring characters, probably Drax and Nebula. Basically anyone blue. Maybe Rocket.
Yep. Although I've tried this tactic before and was sorely disappointed. "Oh it's a red herring, they're just messing with us..." and then it actually happened. Ha. But Loki never dies. He's too ornery to die. But Thanos will sure make it look like he did to Thor to mess with him, but I think he'd want Loki alive just so he could make him pay for double crossing him. So, Loki "dies" but doesn't actually die. Which we don't find out until IW4 or something.
People really seem to be grasping to that White Wolf thing.
Seriously doubt it's anything more than an easter egg. We might hear it again as a one-liner in one of these Infinity War movies, but doubt it's anything significant.
Bucky is 100% going to become Captain America. They've teased it in every single movie he's been in. That's his story arc.
Steve will die and Bucky will pick up the shield.
Him losing the stone doesn't mean he's dead. He may be incapacitated or something, sure, but we don't quite know what the full extent of the Mind Stone has on Vision, and whether he can survive without it.
Also, if the latest teaser does indeed show Thanos with all the stones (except for the mind stone) he should just be able to freeze time already.![]()
I think Captain America will die but if you read the Russo Bros newest interview, he's almost surely to die in Avengers 4. They basically say the story they started with Winter Soldier will finalize with part 4. They wouldnt say that if Captain America was dying in Infinity War.
The speculation has been interesting but I'm really not looking forward to any of the mainstays dying. This fixation on our favorite heroes getting killed so we can all get together and have a good cry just seems morbid and perverse to me. As far as I remember, people mostly hated the last time a hero was killed off (in a heroic sacrifice, no less), so it's pretty odd to see so many fans practically licking their chops at the idea this time around. I can already see one of two potential reactions getting traction - either their favorite hero's death wasn't heroic/tragic/epic enough, or that said character's death was "wasted", which we've heard before. I suppose the flipside is possible as well, in that a character's death could be handled poorly (hi Talia & Uncle Ben), yet fans defend it anyway because of how sad they are to see the character go.
Personally, I think at least part of it stems from MCU fans' general insecurities and/or frustrations about stakes in these films, but I could be wrong. In any case, I'd like to see at least some of the old guard get happy endings. There's more ways to end a character's story than killing them off. Whatever form it takes and whoever it befalls, my only real hope is that it's done well and is a genuine, fitting decision that serves the story. Won't work if it's some contrivance designed to placate anxious fans.
If it comes when A4 ends, that we've only had a few minor deaths, what will folks say?

Post your predictions on who the casualties for the Infinity war will be
'phew'. depending on one's definition of 'minor' ... death isn't necessary, 'stakes' do not require death.
Hmmm....i actually think Cap will die in this film.
Yes...that's what I'm speculating.
