I know Batman doesn't kill, but in the real world sometimes there's no choice. Last resort, of course.

I would imagine it would be Wonder Woman. Scoops have pointed to it being her, not Batman. Why they'd make Batman do it is beyond me. Now, Batman may come close to killing Superman to stop him...

Since when was Wonder Woman "pure"? She's a freaking Amazon warrior.
i hope ur right Guard. Having Batman do the killing would be against his character. Its also pretty important to this story. Batman is monitoring the heroes to prevent them from getting out of control and making choices like the one Wonder Woman makes. In Babel all of Batman protocols for stopping each hero did not result in death for any of them.

Is it out of character for Batman if the only way he can save Wonder Woman and freeing Superman is by killing the bad guy?

Seriously, I would say it would be out of character if Batman stood idely by and watched Superman kill Wonder Woman. It would be pure evil by Batman then.

Evil is when good men do nothing.

Just like a soldier, Batman will kill the bad guy if that is his only option to save Wonder Woman and Superman.

Saddening to know that fans out there rather would have a Batman that lets Wonder Woman die rather then doing what is right.

No, the fans would rather have WONDER WOMAN kill him, because that was what was in the book, and that was freaking awesome.

Everybody already knows Batman is awesome, it's time they established WW as a bad ass who doesn't screw around as well. Plus, to me there's something cool about seeing what will probably be a 22 year old, cutesy looking girl brutally breaking the neck of some guy twice her size.

Maybe, but my point is that it's not out of character for Batman to kill Lord if that was his only option to save Wonder Womans life (and free Superman). How can one say it is out of character?

It would be out of character if he stood by and let Wonder Woman get killed.

That fans want WW to be the one that has to face that dillema may be, but it does not change the fact that Batman would come to the same conclusion and do the killing. Hell, I would kill Lord if that was my only choice for saving WW and I'm a pacifist for crying out loud. :)

Or am I:ninja:

It would be just as cool to see a "cutsey looking girl" holding her own against SUPERMAN!!!! (of all people)

Although, I have to agree. Batman should not kill...

If Batman has contingency plans on Superman, Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman, then it's not hard to conceive that he would not have some kind of neural restraint to keep Lord at bay.
Lord is human, if Supes is busy fighting Diana, then Bruce can simply knock Lord out and put him away. He doesn't have to resort to killing Lord. Whereas if Batman is in intensive care like he should be as per the original story, Diana is faced with no choice but to execute Lord, having no alternative at the time.

If knocking him out does not free Superman, then Diana still dies. The point is: If Batman finds himself in a situation where the only thing that can save WW is to kill Lord, he will kill Lord. And that will not be out of character. That is Batman doing the right thing, although it is a choice he eill wish he never was forced into making. Nuff said :)

I would imagine that
Batman will be in no shape to kill anyone. I think he's going to lose his fight with Superman, as he was beaten soundly in the comics when Superman went rogue.

I hope the rogue Superman collects peanuts and uses them as killer weapons, shooting them with his finger. Loved that scene in Superman III :D

I was actually thinking the other day how awesome it would be if Batman killed Maxwell Lord and there were a fight between Superman and Wonder Woman, with Superman winning of course. So naturally I am very pleased with this development. My only concern is that they may make Wonder Woman out to be Superman's equal, which she shouldn't be.

But knocking Lord out would be sufficient to release Superman.
That's why Wonder Woman was able to pursue him and snap his neck without Lord resisting much. His entire concentration was focused on manipulating whatever Superman saw. His nose was almost pouring blood from the effort.
If Lord is not conscious, then he can't manipulate Superman.

Wonder Woman would not know if Batman had a neural inhibitor and never concieve such an option. But Batman would find another option.

And Superman doesn't really go rogue. J'Onn notes this specifically in his fight with Batman. It's still Superman, however he fights Batman and Wonder Woman under the impression that they are either Doomsday, Ruin, Brainiac or Darkseid, thanks to Lord manipulating whatever Superman saw. He believed that they had harmed and killed Lois, so he went to town.

Important point:

Diana doesn't kill Lord because she needs to stop Superman. She's already essentially stopped him at this point. She kills him so Lord cannot ever do it again, or do it to anyone else.

Batman come close to killing Superman? Imagine an evil Superman, without a moral compass. All the kryptonite jewellery and 'prep-time' in the world couldn't save Batman. I hate how Batman always has to beat Superman when, logically, he really wouldn't stand a chance.

Exactly. Superman's biggest weakness, even more so than kryptonite is the fact that he pulls punches, and doesn't have a killer instinct. You take away his moral compass and Batman would never get close enough for kryptonite to make a difference, he'd be dead before he knew what hit him.

I don't think Lord would die, just lose or go to jail. I serously doubt they would have WW or Batman snap Lords neck in this movie.

No of...course not.

Yep. People seem to forget that little thing called 'heat vision'. Superman could fly up into the sky and just blast Batman, is he wanted to.

Yeah, I can just imagine Batman standing somewhere on Earth, waiting for a confrontation, and a deranged Superman blasts him from outer space with heat vision.
