More Exclusive Story Info About the Jla by Patrick Sauriol

who is that? by the quote im thinking its joel schumaker

You are correct. You've just won a new Chrysler Cordova. And you can pick it up in front of Mordy's office. (A Meatballs reference). :)

that beginning sounds great. can't wait for this.

From bof , about a plot point which would have allegedly been changed :

): The Talia aspect of the storyline is that her father, the STILL-LIVING Ra's, wants Batman to become Talia's husband. She isn't seeking revenge for Ra's death (which would make the storyline more linked to BB), since Ra's is alive (whether he actually appears in the story or not is unclear right now). This would on the one hand be an alternate version of characters very recently featured in Nolan's Batman series, so it is stepping on his toes in that respect; but in light of how events unfolded in BB, there is NO WAY that this JLA subplot -- if it's indeed the subplot with Talia -- could be linked to events in BB. This seems to be one possibly late change made to the *****, so it may have been done (by Miller perhaps, before the strike?) to ease tensions with Nolan. Just speculating there, but anyway I hope this is true, if Talia and Batman are going to be in JLA this is one sure-fire way to distinguish it as 100% different from Nolan's films!

How the heck does that distinguish it? That's just confusing for the GA. Ra isn't the Joker. People's only knowledge of him is from BB.

usually i'd stop reading whenever i read the letters B, O and F together.

but heck for the sake of discussion:

if Talia's motivation in JLA isnt revenge for blood, then what the hell would it be? she ruins Batman's life and endangers everybody elses because she was scorned? that's ridiculously shallow not to mention stupid.

the hate for this film brewing out of Jett's site is polluting everything and everybody it touches. why dont he just focus on the Nolan movies? when was the last time he really gave the juicy meat on that?

Not for blood, no. Nor for scorn. If Batman is to be Talia's husband and most likely Ra's heir, then he can't have things such as the Justice League in his life. Such ties would inhibit him on his quest for true justice. So kill the Justice League using the Batman's very own paranoia. Heck, this may be why Lord mind controls Superman. To make Batman think that Big Blue has gone rouge, thus proving that he can't trust the League.

That is just an idea though.

One way this movie can distinguish itself from Nolans...pronounce Ra's name correctly ("rae-sh" and not "roz")

sounds like Batman is already henpecked even before reaching the altar. i know its just a thought, but i dont like it.

That would be a good start. :cwink:

I suppose this is good "news" ... But Talia's involvement seemed to make more sense when she was looking for revenge.

Let's get one thing straight here. Ra's and Talia al Ghul are creations of Dennis O'Neil, not Christopher Nolan. Any attempt to use these characters in a film would be no different than Nolan using the Joker in his film vis a vis Tim Burton's Joker or Richard Donner's Luthor vis a vis Richard Lester's or Sidney J Furie's or Bryan Singer's versions. I don't see the tie in. The rumored Justice League story line is supposedly based on the Tower of Babel/OMAC Project tales (that are source material) from the comics. Christopher Nolan's interpretation of Ra's al Ghul as far as I am concerned is an under developed character with tales that have yet to be told and there is enough president to use the character in another director's project without any argument. I think that certain people need to cut out this yellow journalism and let these folks work their trade.

Sorry, I LOL'd at the thought of Batman not trusting the League in fear of having to wear make-up.:ninja:

Doesn't matter.....with C grade actors who are not very believable as these DC icons....the execution may turn out to be poor.

We'll see how this silly joke of a casting process will end. It may doom this project to a mediocre made for under 15 year old crowd. I hope not....but the buzz on this film has been shady and suspect to the say the least.

I'll say it again:

He has grounds for revenge. :)
Hey! It looks like MORGAN EDGE returns from the grave to settle some score with that "farmboy" from Smallville! :D

Agreed 100%

The reason why they do that is because they don't want the star to be the actor but the character. With that being said, what other choice do you have?

At least B grade actors.....not C and D actors who are in made for teen TV shows like Heroes, Friday Night Lights etc.

Tell me what cast you would prefer....and try and be honest...

Superman- Duhamel
Batman- Bale
WW- Biel or Connelly
Barry Allen- Reynolds or Gosling
Wally West- Brody or Porter
GL/John Stewart- Morris Chestnut
Aquaman- Gosling or Josh Holloway
MM- mostly CGI

Talia- Beckinsale
Max Lord- Jonathan Rhys Meirs

Or this crap...

Superman- Porter or Welling
Batman- DJ Catrona or Armie Hammer??
WW- Gale (hardly any acting experience or MEW (needs to tone up big time)
Barry Allen- Porter
Wally West- Brody
John Stewart- Common
MM- CGI
Aquaman- probably someone we never heard of....

Talia- Gale
Max Lord- another mid 20's actor we probabably never heard of....

See what I'm talking about?

Or this crap...

Superman - Scott Porter
Batman - DJ Cotrona
WW - Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Wally West - Adam Brody
John Stewart - Common
MM - CGI

Talia - Teresa Palmer
Max Lord - Santiago Cabrera

See what I'm talking about?

I really don't find this as crap at all. Granted it's not a A-List cast but a lot of A-List actors don't deserve their hype either.

Was this who I was expecting? No, but I can comfortably live with it.

This list is one fanboy's dream, not a legitimate argument. It's not reality, no matter how hard you wish it to be.

That looks like a very mediocre and WEAK cast to me.....:whatever:

I used this as an example.....I and I'm sure most of you non SHEEP in here would prefer to see that cast that as used as an example instead of a ridiculous C and D grade cast of actors.

I think it's clear that WB is going for a mediocre movie. They want to have a superhero blockbuster franchise, not an award winning epic.

Neither actually. I'd prefer this:

Superman: Cavill (dream casting), Duhamel otherwise
Batman: Andy Whitfield
WW: MEW
Barry Allen- Porter
Wally West- Brody
John Stewart- Common
MM- CGI
Max Lord - This is the one where we should get someone A list.
Talia - I'm fine with Palmer

I don't know about the mediocre part...but I agree with the second.

I want a blockbuster franchise! If it won awards, great! I don't care though. This film should be ENTERTAINMENT first, art second. They should try to make the best film they can, but I don't think WB will be submitting them to the Academy for their consideration.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Why do so many people want Common to be Green Lantern? Or is that just the latest rumor to latch onto and pretend to like?
