Richard Donner.

Why mess with a good thing?

Besides, he got screwed in the sequels. It's only fitting that he be given the franchise's rebirth.

Superman would have probably made it to the 5th version if they hadn't ditched Donner. In the commentary for the 1970's Superman, he states that you have to take the Superman mythos serious and treat it as a real movie or you are doomed to fail. That's why it went downhill starting with the third one where Adam West camp became too much.

Joss Whedon, Joss Whedon, Joss Whedon. Also, give Joss Whedon X4--and any other comic book property he wants.

Alternatively, Peter Jackson or James Cameron.

out of the directors listed there....i would only want to see Sam Raimi and Singer's versions...

...but if i had to add my own, i would've loved to see what Brad Bird would've done with Supes.

Hmm..an unknown for Iron Man? Bad call on his part. Iron Man needs a big name to carry it. Its not the type of hero people just know. I really hope the studio either pushes Tom Cruise or Johnny Depp.

I really hope he goes the route of Ultimate Iron Man more than 616 Iron Man. I like Ultimate better.
Tom Cruise as Tony Stark is a great choice.

Can't wait to see what he does with Iron Man.

When I first heard Favreau was going to direct movies, I was confused and befuddled. Then I saw Elf. The guy is a better director than he is actor...and that says something.

It might if they made Tony Stark a believer in Scientology.

*snickers* :D :D

I heard that Jon will likely pick an unknown to play good o' Shellhead. Tom Crusie won't be in it thankfully. :)

An unknown is all wrong for Iron Man. You need an established actor as the title isn't enough to carry the movie.

Donner. He got the character right. He got the whole thing right. I wished he could have made STM now. God we would not have had campy lex at all.

RIDLEY SCOTT or JAMES CAMERON.
as much as i'd be for this, doing a superhero film would be a step down for these two. one's a trained artist and the other is a science geek and their films are amazing because they are given massive amounts of money and control. for the superhero films ... the studios say they give creative control to the primaries but they also base the decision people they know will at least respect them enough to know what's wanted. scott and cameron can smite people from their positions.

Don't you think with enough greasing.....enough hype, and a hot celeb love interest....ti would get it done?

that's NEVER happened before. ever. never ever.

What a worthless fanboy poll. Singer leads by a huge margin and no one has even seen the film.

And Noland and Raimi are 2nd and third. Gee, what a shocker.

I guess they graduated from comic-to-movie-university. LOL

Just because you made a satisfying comic movie doesn't mean you're the right choice. ;)

raimi shouldn't be allowed near a movie that expects to be taken seriously. like spider-man but it's not a serious film. it's campy.

Not really. You can get anyone in the role of Iron Man as long the actor can act. That all there is to it. ;)

Oh, let me dream, will ya? :O

yeah ... i'd give a nut for cameron to do a batman film and for scott to do a superman film -- or they can swap or collaborate or whatever. granted not my nut but someone's left nut.
