Who's going to NYCC 2012?

I wish I could go to NYCC. I hoped to go this year but no one else would go with me. But next year I should have time, money and someone to go with to enjoy all the crazy American money and accents with.

I plan on taking a ton of pictures on Saturday.

I'm going Friday and Saturday. I'll be Blade on Saturday for sure. Friday I'm still undecided.
If I see you, I'm going to scream "Mr. Terrific!!!" ... maybe lol. But I'll definitely ask for a pic. You costumes are always awesome.

And since tzarinna asked for pics, Here's some of the better shots I got from today.

I'll be at Comic Con tomorrow.

I'll be one of the attractive girls dressed as a comic character.

Just slap me on the ass if you can guess which one I am.

My friend got into some after party hosted by R. Kelly. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but he just kept texting me "Wow. Just wow." Every 15 minutes.

One would assume so.

This was my first year not going. :(

Words can't express how jealous I am of your friend right now.

I saw a poster for that, but I wasn't sure what it was for. But I was invited to a Star Wars party when the day was over, but the guys doing the inviting didn't exactly look like Star Wars fans but rather club promoters.

Anyways, here are some from Saturday at NYCC:

I didn't have as much fun this year. It was way too crowded and people don't know how to walk in crowds.

That was actually a pet peeve of mine from last year that I was reminded of yesterday. Fridays seem crowded as first, but not as bad as Saturday, and I'm not looking forward to today because kids get in free, so the walking space is going to be a lot tighter. But I simply can understand why people try to walk around with strollers and luggage with wheels.

What do people who dress up do for 3 days? Just walk around, pose for pictures, and pretend they're important? :o

I was actually thinking about something similar today, which is that there are different types of cosplayers. You can tell which kind a person is based on their costume.

The first kind is the Wannabe cosplayer. They dress up because they see the convention as an excuse to and they think it is cool, but they put little to no effort in their costume. More likely than not, they just wear something simple out of their closet that resembles something a popular character would wear. Chances are it was a last minute decision.

The next kind is the Casual Cosplayer. They usually go in groups and collaborate with others on what costumes they should all wear. They usually plan this out a month or two before the convention. Sometimes their costumes are cheap and can be found in the Halloween section of Wal-Mart or Target. They go hoping people will ask them for a picture, but usually leave disappointed.

Next are the Hardcore Cosplayers, also known as, but not limited to, the Anime Cosplayer. Their costumes are usually custom made to a certain extent. Even if its just a regular pair of jeans or shirt, it has custom designs or logos that look, and because of this, it has been in progress many months in advance. And in the case of anime characters, crazy hairstyles and accessories are included. They get stopped every now and then to get photos taken of them.

Finally, there are the professional Cosplayers. More often than not, these people are professional models who have no interest in comics or superheroes, but show up because they look great. Their costumes are entirely custom fit and made, either by themselves or with help from professional tailors. Some are sponsored by agencies and gain more recognition from them. And unfortunately, they are not there to check out any panels. They are simply there to walk around, get mobbed by photographers, and then disappear for a while before being sighted again. Say what you want about them, but they always have the best, most expensive looking costumes and look a lot like their superhero counterpart.

had a great time at comic con this year...first time as well...But after some research this year lacked the panels and screenings that were big time.

I mean I got to see the Silent Hill panel, which was allright. The Director of the Silent Hill movie said at the panel said he wants to direct BioShock.
