Not you're fault. You're just a poor victim of all the hype. I too believed them when they said it was going to be a great movie. :)

I wonder in what Dialect of the English language "great" translates into X3.

Then I'm just as much to blame, for I too was decieved.:(

But then again, look on the bright side! We have TWO awesome X-Movies already! It would have been too optimistic to hope for a third with the way X-3 was handled.

X-3 is dead to me. :(

Actually, no. It exists, just in an alternate X-movieverse. It's not mainstream with X-1 or X-2, it's just a "what if this happened?" version. Yep, that's what it is. The real X-3 will come, I know it will.:)

...:( don't nobody burst my bubble, k?

Once again I say,
It will come.....and when it does it will be directed by Bryan Singer and shall be titled "Xmen Returns", but will take place directly after X2.

Probably the same George Lucas uses: lots and lots and lots of special effects and "ooooh ahhhh" moments. There's gonna be 150 mutants fighting at the same time against 6 other mutants!! And then there's going to be this scene about a bridge!!! Doesn't that sound GREAT? :)

My sentiments exactly. It's one of those alternate timeline "what-if" stories. "What if Jean comes back but is all psycho and evil and kills everyone?" Just like those "The End" X-men stories. We're not supposed to believe them or hold them canon. I'm perfectly happy with that. Scott was probably just having a nightmare. He keeps having those. In one dream he remembers swimming in the lake chasing after Jean and then she dives under and...and... she's gone. Then he has this next dream where Jean comes back and kills him and everyone else.

Poor Scott!

But it was just a dream :)

OOh..Ooh..I can do better......We'll make the bridge out of mutants! Yeah thats it and the speed limit will be 150mph! Yeah thats it! Pure genius!

hey man, it'snot just a bridge! It's the Golden Gate Bridge.

*snicker*

It's still not as bad as the whole Alcatraz thing. When I first heard rumors floating around the web that they were going to use Alcatraz---well, lets just say it was about as absurd to me as hearing that Cycke was going to be de-molecularized....

   they was serious all along????

Sci-Fi action crap!!! that's what this film is. B-graded movie theme you'd find on the Sci-Fi channel, only it's special effects are a step above.

And then we'll kill off 1/2 the main cast! We'll ever stick pictures of characters on the posters who don't appear in those scenes!

www.chucknorrisfacts.com

It is a repository of mythical knowledge. I always feel enlightened after retreating to this site for a brief momentof meditation.

Ms Vix, borinquenknight, you know what's scary? That's probably how they wrote this movie in the first place :)

Rothman in X-uniform! Since everyone who is attached to the film wears one on poster.

Rattner certainly did. There's a pic of him posing with some of the cast members and he's dressed up to look like Wolverine, complete with claws. We the fans were offended by that picture

I'd like to think the fans could do better! Heck put me in uniform with claws, a visor, AND a wheelchair!

I saw it. I didn't take it as a foreshadowing of what was to come. Foolish me!

I say Singer got away with changes to the canon because he told them within good stories. The dialogue was sharp, the pacing was good, the characters were well-portrayed and acted (except Storm - Halle has been awful as Storm in every single movie) the only things that suffered were the action sequences, but that was mostly due to time and budget restrictions than anything else.

X3 doesn't get away with it because the writing was weak, the dialogue poor, many characters poorly portrayed, and the acting worse than before. Not to mention the much-ballyhooed action is terribly overrated. Yeah, Beast doesn't look like he's doing outdated wire-fu tricks that were openly mocked in Austin Powers 3. Wolverine being thrown twice doesn't look like he's sliding along a taut cord and hanging from a harness.

The "teamwork" everybody claimed they saw? Didn't see it here. Except for one brief moment where Wolverine distracted Magneto long enough for Beast to do a wirework leap from behind and stab him. Everything else was individual battles happening in the same scene. Wow. The teamwork is so much better here. The movie fooled some of you, but not me. Just because Wolverine SAYS they fight as a team doesn't mean that they do. They just fight individually all at the same time.

 I like that idea!!!

Hm... my hair is already red, so I'll just dye a white streak in it and be Jean and Rogue.

Seriously, I know Singer sat in a w/c and wore Cerebro, but he looked very intense and serious, I didn't get the impression he was a six year old about to open his Christmas presents. When Ratner dressed up as Wolvie, it only confirmed my belief that we have a Wolverine faaa-aaan-boy directing.

I want an X-Men fanboy in charge, darn it! That goes for everybody!

Your hair is red? Perfect. Get yourself a uniform. I already have my Cyclops jacket on order. :)

Betcha he'll be the one directing the Wolverine flick.

If it was Peter Jackson or Sam Raimi, you can be sure the guy and his whole staff would be staying up for days catching up on the comics.

Yes, that's certainly true. He didn't have the budget to build entire city blocks and then have them be trashed by giant robots. So he made sure the story focused on the characters. Since that's understood to be one of the reasons for the popularity of this franchise anyways: the 3-dimensional, believable characters, with long established histories, feelings, issues, etc. It's the way they interact that tells the stories, not necessarily their special powers. X3 did it the other way around: it's the action sequences that tell the stories, not the characters or their drama.

The "teamwork" everybody claimed they saw? Didn't see it here. Except for one brief moment where Wolverine distracted Magneto long enough for Beast to do a wirework leap from behind and stab him. I was wondering about that too. They didn't really have any strategies to use as a team, only quick moments: Colossus sharing his power with Rogue, Shadowcat sharing her power with Iceman, and the way beast and wolverine worked together to take down Magneto. It's a shame those two didn't use the same strategy to take down Jean. Otherwise it was every man for himself. They sent Shadowcat to protect Leech all by herself. I was hoping she'd have at least one more person with her to add firepower. That and they really must be superheroes or Magneto's soldiers a bunch of blockheads, to have about 100-150 warriors defeated by... 6. ANd Wolverine talking about fighting like a team? HAHAHAHAHA!!! Isn't he usually the one that charges in head-first and the rest of the team tries to restrain him or rescue him from his own perils? Who died and made him leader? :P

EXACTLY!!!!

just to be fair; I think Halle Berry is a good actress, just not for comic book heroes. She doesn't seem to have that charisma James Marsden has for being able to play such an icon in the comic world. Sure, she's excited she gets to spin around on a wire and toss her cookies at the end, and I guess that's REALLY important to some Storm fans too, but I liked her character better in X-2.

Like she said, she didn't want to do X-3 and sign away so many months of her life only to have a very small part, when she's a huge actress in Hollywood and can be doing other movies to further her career.

I don't want to be unfair to ms.berry, I don't really know what she about Storm. I think she does appreciate the character, but I also think she should have shown consideration to the rest of the cast. It is ensemble, not solo. Her part should have been to contribute, instead of to take.

Yeah, that scene in the DR with Colossus throwing Logan really looked bad. It was like Hugh was gliding up an invisible slide, which wouldn't have been bad, except it went too slow. C'mon Piotr, you're stronger than that!
That legendary move does not belong in the movieverse, in my opinion.

Yep, no teamwork. Know y? Cuz Cyclops is too busy being *dead* to help out as leader.

She had more issues and depth in X2. Like that one touching scene between her and NightCrawler. It went something like this I believe:

"How can someone so beautiful harbor so much anger inside?"
"sometimes, anger gives you strength"
"so does faith"

But never ever came of that. Certainly X3 didn't refer to it in any way. If anything she didn't learn from that encounter because she still acted the same way in X3. So much for character development.

which is understandeable. The other part of the problem is that the writing staff blew her request out of proportion. She wanted Storm to have a chance to do more. So they made Storm the new headmistress of the school. Can you say... overkill? :)

Yep, no teamwork. Know y? Cuz Cyclops is too busy being *dead* to help out as leader.[/quote]

Ah yes, good point. It was great to see him take charge and coordinate things in X1. It was obvious in X3 that without him, things got sloppy. If he was in a hospital watching a live telecast from Alcatraz, Scott would have been shaking his head and throwing things at the screen.
