I was surprised by how short the screentime of Negasonic was but I wasn't disappointed. Though most of the
X-Force were so disposable. Their death had no purpose
at all. They were there to
make the audience laugh. So much for me asking Shatterstar to be part of the X-Force.
Also
Black Tom Cassidy, totally wasted. Juggernaut wasn't anything Xpecial either.

I get the feeling this is what watching this movie with you would be like.

He had a real lack of screen presence. :sly:

Yeah, and his costume design was a real eyesore.

Also... I just realized this thread is missing the true heart and soul of the X-Force:

Vanisher teleports, he's not like Sue Storm. But I guess making another joke is a bigger priority.

#VanisherINO #NotMyVanisher

Yep Peter, we needed a lot more of him!

Peter was there to connect to Dopinder wanting to be a superhero and Deadpool not letting Dopinder accompany him... So basically his purpose was for a joke.

Negasonic! She was one of my fave parts about the first one and she really got barely anything to do in this one.

She got 1 power display! Two if you counted when she shielded herself from Firefist.

Disappointed mostly with screentime for Bedlam and Shatterstar, wanted more from Vanisher and what happened with Black Tom was just plain bad.

I felt the heavy hand of the studio and producers on this film. Fox's main mistakes repeated yet again - stuffing in cameos, killing people off...

What happened to Black Tom is one of the highlights of the movie.

[blackout]Deadpool: [/i]You racist son of a *****![/i] Which then leads to a great running gag. "Cable, promise me that in the future, you'll judge people not by the color of their skin but by the content of their heart."[/blackout]

Loved this film a ton and they get so much right. But yeah, I'll agree that [BLACKOUT]Black Tom Cassidy[/BLACKOUT] was one of the letdowns.

[BLACKOUT]Cassidy is one of Deapool's major villains. The relationship between him, Juggernaut, Siryn and Deadpool is some of the strongest material for Deadpool. So yeah, it's a shame that this was it for him. There was just a ton of potential here. That really could have been anyone else and still landed the joke. [/BLACKOUT]

Nonetheless the jokes with him were hilarious.

Shatterstar and Black Tom Cassidy.

On the other hand, too much of screen time for a character like Negasonic.

Negasonic & Yukio if only because they showed up just to show up. Useful at the [blackout]end[/blackout], but could have been written out of the movie as much as I enjoyed them.

You are aware this is comedy, right?

I mean, I see the fan perspective, I just think it is kind of moot here. Reynolds isn't even sure we'll get a Deadpool 3 after X-Force, which unto itself is probably a subtle admission he doesn't think it'll transfer smoothly to Disney. And even if we did, Deadpool 3 might be it too.

What I'm saying is, I don't think they were ever going to circle back to Black Tom Cassidy, so while he is a big heavy in the comics, the way he was used in this film is delightful. If they somehow miraculously make it to Deadpool 7, then it might seem like a bad idea, but I am not too worried about that at the moment.

Conversely, this surprises me. Negasonic is a (brief) character in the comics. If I answered this thread honestly, Negasonic and Yukio should be in the movie more. Why do you want less of them, when they weren't in it enough?

Who is Black Tom Cassidy ? Did he appear in this ? Strange because I have no memory of such a character in DP 2. Can anyone post a picture of him ?

He was the guy that was leading the group that beat up Wade and Russell in the Ice Box.
