Infinity War Whose lack of screentime were you most disappointed with?

The 2 moments that got the biggest reaction from my theater were:

Cap's intro and Thor coming to Wakanda

Yep, and I'm not normally one to woot, during movies, but I did during both of those scenes like my team just scored at the buzzer in game 7 of the NBA finals.

Red Skulls appearence
got the biggest reaction in my theater, surprisingly.

I heard a couple of teenagers at my cinema commenting on how hot Nebula is, plus lots of gasps from the audience when
it looked like Thanos was going to kill Tony Stark
and then
when he used the complete gauntlet to turn the Avengers to dust
.

Not sure why people would be upset with the lack of Black Panther characters since we just had a movie about them 2 months ago. Lack of Black Widow for me was upsetting. I really hope she gets some kind of suit upgrade. I think her lack of screen time is due to that, sadly.

Since we've only seen BP and his supporting characters in two and one movie/s but BW in multiple movies now. So comparing MCU screentime BP and his supporting characters fall short. That and Okoye and Shuri are great lively and entertaining characters.

I want a scene of Banner talking to Hulk in his psyche. I think Banner needs to understand that Hulk is the scared child he used to be. Or the monster he created to get over childhood trauma. That is why the Hulk "saved" him.

That's the exact same thought I had. Hulk getting beaten so bad probably reminded him of the abuse he was subjected to by his father. It'd be great to have a scene where Banner and the Hulk are actually able to talk to each other and get to the root of why the Hulk exists, which is that the Hulk is the scared, angry, and hurt little boy that Bruce was.

Definitely the lack of Black Widow. All the OGs got a good amount of screentime and story, but her and Cap? Not so much.

Black Panther, he barely gets to do anything, only gets to do 1 cool thing against Cull

I think some people might've gone into this thinking it was Black Panther 2.

At least that's what Double Toasted have suggested. That people who went to see Black Panther who normally don't go to see these movies might have heard he was in it and saw him in all the trailers and then went in expecting this to be a sequel so soon after. Of course they were joking about some parts, but maybe some people did expect that, especially after his movie. Maybe they expected that Marvel would want to capitalise on that and build on his success.

Well all the Loki fangirls might be very upset that he not only doesn't have much of a role but that he also dies right at the start of the film, and it isn't one of those disintegration deaths at the end but might be more permanent.

Hawkeye.

Let's face it, this is truly above his paygrade... LOL

Marvel mislead people with those tv spots playing during the NBA playoffs. Some of those tv spots looked like bp 1.5

Well it was to get the Black Panther crowd back for this. If you enjoyed BP, you'll love this movie too because it's a virtual sequel. :o

Then they show scenes of Wakanda and every clip of Panther.

It's the same way they marketed Justice League after Wonder Woman's success. Except there they were desperate and needed JL to succeed, so they traded on WW's star power.

In Infinity War's case, it's not like they were desperate at all. It was simply a marketing ploy. But people would still have been disappointed. Especially all the black grandmas who went to see BP. As Double Toasted pointed out, they would've found Infinity War absolutely insane. Talking raccoons, walking trees, adventures on far-off planets, magic, etc.

DT even mentioned how, if you compared the first Iron Man to Infinity War and played the latter immediately after the former, it would almost seem like a different franchise because of the groundedness of that first Marvel movie. IM was like a military thriller.

Right now, probably Cap. Just didn't feel like enough story time for Captain freakin' America/Nomad

Team Cap and BP crew. It's not so much their lack of screentime for me, it's that many of them really didn't get a cool action sequence.

Bucky had the spin thingy with Rocket. Shuri got to bust of a few shots with her gauntlets. Their parts were small but they got a little sumpin sumpin. But Falcon didn't do anything of note. They made it look like Widow and Okoye were going to have an interesting fight with Midnight but...not really. Cap and BP outrunning everybody was their only highlight during the fight.

None of the stuff I mentioned ruined the movie of course. And as others have already said some of these characters will have more to do in Avengers 4, no doubt.

Probably because so much of Wakanda in the promotion.

This may be a controversial answer but:

Too much Tony not enough Iron Man
Too much Peter not enough Spiderman
Too much Steve not enough Cap
Too much Bruce not enough Hulk

Felt like the only time you got to see Iron Man and Spiderman were during the fight scenes. I think Downey and Holland are fine actors but I am amazed at how much focus these movies put on their alter egos, especially a movie like this where there isn't much emphasis on character development and is pretty much all plot and action.

All they gotta do is keep the masks on.

I wish we could have gotten a scene of Cap, BW and Falcon doing some "superhero" duties when they decided to check on Vision. Or something that led us to see what they were doing for a few years.

^THIS x100

No outstanding moments for any of them.

Honestly, Hawkeye.

I know its cool to hate on him, but having him be the only OG Avenger absent from this film was kinda messed up. Even showing him in a post credit scene would've at least been something.

Cap did have the great moment with Groot.

Look guys in a film this big, characters were bound to get short-changed. Hence why they totally wrote out Ant-Man and Hawkeye for this film. It made sense. You can only service so many characters before the film starts falling apart and collapsing in on itself. I have a feeling in the next movie we will get more of certain characters who had less to do here.

Plus, we really needed a lot of extra time for Thanos anyway.

To be honest... No one really. I agree Cap sort of was just there to do cool stuff compared to what they did with other Avengers and heroes in play but that still didn't detract from the whole movie and given how it's obvious the story will continue (man... what was up with all the reviews that called this thing self contained?) I am sure they will give more spotlight to Cap in the next film. I mean... Did anyone else notice how the issues of CIVIL WAR were on the back burner for the most part? The resolution is probably going to be in A4.
