Stereotypes are ridiculous. Why? Because they're not legitimate. All white people can't dance? No, some can. All black people can dance? No, some can't. Asians are bad drivers? So are some white people. So are some black people. See what I'm getting at?

The only thing that reinforces stereotypes is society's acceptance of them.

I like how you don't say anything about how some Asians can be good drivers.

Example 1:
My GF is driving to her house and a car full of black men get pulled over. Car is a Cadillac with FLASHY rims, grill, etc. Said 4 black men get out car with pants sagging, shirt 3x too big, and dreads (two). Police search car to find bags of pot in trunk. How many stereotypes of the black race can you find?

Example 2:
Im in my college's cafeteria/lounge and there are a group of white people in said lounge. Everyone of them were barefoot with soles as black Forrest Whitaker's neck. I know for a fact that they haven't bathed due to the fact that they wore the same clothes, some for days. So, needless to say they looked like hippies and smelled like them too.

Example 3:
In Memphis they have concerts at the park, right behind my school. One night I'm chilling at friends dorm outside. The concert end and people are leaving. Police are present of course. AGAIN, a car full of black people pull at the stop sign with music BLASTING. They stay there dancing with half their bodies out of windows. Police get on bullhorn to issue warnings and to get them to leave calmly. The blacks respond with: "**** YOU, WHITE MOTHER****ER!!"

Who said anything about them driving well? Just because the cars are built in Asian countries doesn't mean that they're the best drivers, but it pokes fun at the stereotype. If all Asians are alike(like stereotypes incorrectly suggest) then they all must be great at building cars. I imagine if you know how to build something, you know how to use it properly as well. I can't imagine an engineer designing a car, and then sitting in the driver's seat going, "WTF does this button do?" But all stereotypes aren't true, so it's a moot point. If stereotypes were true, all Asian people would be kick ass martial artists.

A month or so ago, I was downtown, and I saw a police car pulling up to a truck where several black men were unloading watermelon. Sometimes the stars just align.

Stereotypes do exist. Most stereotypes have their root in truth somewhere. The danger is in assuming all people of a race are like that.

I'm not specifically talking about Asians that can't drive, because Asians don't exist where I live, it's just one of the more common stereotypes.
