Why Are So Many People Fearing The Trilogy Curse??

With out a doubt this will be a great movie. We shouldn't be b!tching because this movie will probably be a comic book movie milestone, just like the 1st one. Now please, next topic.

good point, but after two great spider-man movies you would think they would have some trust

Not everyone thinks the first two were 'great'. Some think that two was a step down from one... and were hoping that three would bring it back up again, but from the information we have, there seems to be:
1. an overload of villains
2. an overload of charaters period (adding Gwen and her father in addition to the villains, for example).
3. the suggestion, based partly on rumor partly on tidbits from the production, that both Harry-goblin and Venom will get short-shrifted.
4. the potention for even more emo-Peter than there was in the first two.

Thus, some people have doubts.

Hunchback Holmes? Did you actually see the first two?

yeah shes the one who hunches more then peter. shes like ashamed of herself in both movies. when shes engaged she hunches. when shes on the billboard shes Embarressed by it. thats not MJ.

I actually can't really think of any bad trilogys except the newest Star wars Trilogy, which doesn't totally suck. And I always thought the second in the three was always the worse because the "middle" of any story is normally the boringest. I think Sam's done a great job, and I think he will make the third the best one yet. Honestly, people ask for cool villians and more comic characters and when they get 'um they complain.

there's not an overload of villains. please don't even say that. we know raimi's too smart to let this become a batman movie, where the movie is about the villains rather than the hero. the villains in SM3 all fit into the story well, rather than they did in...batman and robin.

gwen being isn't this film isn't too much at all. she fits into the peter-mj plot. and captain stacy won't have a big part. so that means nothing.

harry's role will be fine. and venom appearing for the finale is a good idea, because with the buil-up throughout the whole film, it makes his appearance all the more entertaining.

and i'm not even gonna comment on emo-peter.

this movie can definitely become the best of the 3. no worries for me.

people just ***** about everything but the thing is unlike the first two batmans the director stayed for the first three so whats there to be worried about he will would not miss something up he's been doing for five years

Their only worried about Spidey 3 going downhill b/c X-Men just went downhill at #3. All I can say is Spider-Man 3 is in much better shape than X3 ever was! People who kept up with the news and such would know why for god sakes.

I dont consider the spiderman movies 3 movies, there just one long really good movie

The only way that this movie could do bad is if all the people who have supported the first & second movies got completely burnt out on Spidey or (comic book) movies altogether, but I just don't see that happening when it comes to Spidey. Spider-Man will always make a load of money on its name alone no matter how good or bad the movies are, but eventually if they keep making them after part 3 there will come a time that a Spider-Man movie won't always be the biggest box office draw regardless of quality because some sequels tend to make less & less money each time a new film in the series is made.

superman 3 sucked, x-men 3 suked, batman 3 kinda sucked, godfather 3 sucked,

Yes, no, I don't think so, you betcha.

Goldfinger- technically James Bond 3- was the best Bond ever.

Well, i think X-Men TLS has left a bad taste in people's mouth, but as someone said before, Spidey 3 has always been in better shape than X3 ever was.

Spidey 3 cannot possibly be anything but great.
Same director... same cast... no quarrels with the studio...
Everything is running smoothly and there's far too much dinero riding on this sucker's back for anything to go awry.

And if things started looking bleak... then chances are pretty good that Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad would begin to kill members of Sam Raimi's family, one by one, until things shaped up.

Damn, that's a bit harsh, no? :O

I don't think SM3 is going to come close to the horrid that is Batman & Robin/Superman 3, or suffer from a third movie curse, just because a few geeks are not getting what they want in the film. Hell, if that's the case, the curse would apply to the first two films. Like I said, you people are going to get an ulcer worrying about this movie. :o

^Very true, very true, Visionary.

I think this film will be what "Batman 3" would've been like if Burton had stayed on... The director gets to see his vision through to the end.

amen.

X3 was a good movie, no matter what b!tchy fanboys think. I don't believe in a "trilogy curse", because there are plenty of good trilogies. There are bad ones, sure. And there are ones with weak links. But there's no reason to think that Spider-Man 3 won't be as good, or better than the first two.

actually....i'm not a fanboy when it comes to x-men at ALL. and i'm definitely not *****y. and i didn't that X3 was a good movie. it was "fun" at parts, but was a big step-down from X2 and was not a good way to end the series.

just wanted to throw that out there.

I think X-3 was the "Return of the Jedi" of the X-Men series...
...it was still a good film... but deeply flawed and below the level of the first two.

yeah. everyone thinks the godfather 3 sucked. i don't think so. it was definitely the weakest of the 3 and was very slow, but i still enjoy it. the ending is pretty sad.
