Why are there no Daredevil style vigilantes??

I really don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see stuff like that.

I'd say laugh at that. Looks like half those people just think its Halloween every damn day. One of the women look like their 42 or something.

there's the guardian angels that started in nyc back in the late 70's. they were basically a neighborhood watch/vigilante organization that patrolled the streets and subways in groups. they're still active today and have spread to countries like japan, new zealand and the uk. you can read more about them here.

there's also people like this who claim to fight crime in costume.

and here in London, if we ever see them on the Tube, we point and laugh and call them names.

self righteous dipsticks with their little berets.

The question is, why hasn't anyone tried being a costumed vigilante in the UK? No guns here.

I do not believe a costumed vigilante would ever be as successful as the ones in comic books though, unless someone finds a way of getting superpowers.

Guns don't kill people rappers do
Sound of the police
Woo Woo Woo

Because you dont get paid thats why :o

Isn't that kind of how the mafia got started?

Are they serious? I wouldn't want to be saved by some random pyscho. This is why people look down on comic books.

Found some more interesting stuff:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vigilantes

  • Self-proclaimed vigilante Jonathan Idema entered Afghanistan after the September 11 attacks and captured many people he claimed to be terrorists. Idema claimed he was collaborating with, and supported by the US government. He even sold news-media outlets tapes that he claimed showed an Al Qaeda training camp in action. His operations ended abruptly when he was arrested with his partners and sentenced to 10 years in a notorious Afghan prison.

  • In present-day Davao City in the Philippines, a killing spree aimed at the city's most notorious criminals was made by unknown vigilantes, usually riding motorcycles. The killers have earned the monicker Davao Death Squad and their actions have spawned several similar incidents in nearby provinces and Cebu.

From wiki...

For example, a young adult Canadian hacker sent trojans to suspected pedophiles then stood vigilant over their activies, bringing former Californian Superior Court Judge Ronald C. Kline to 27 months to jail and prosecuting other child porn downloaders.[9]

I've heard of that guy. Very, very cool. Cyber vigilante!!

Sounds like a nerd with too much time on his hands to me.

Also, any evidence brought to them by this kid, should've been thrown out of court.

Actually, the law states that if a private citizen illigally finds evidence of a crime, that evidence can still be used. Though, the judge on the case tried to pull some **** about the guy "acting on behalf of the government", but that was thrown out 'cause the guy was acting on his own.

And if the guy is putting pedophiles in jail, is it really such a bad thing that he's a nerd?
