it was stated a while back in comics that he takes the form of whoever sees him. To a Caucasian he appears caucasian, to a African american he appears african american...to Klingon's he appears Klingonese.
Sorry,.. but when Grimm took him to a bar,... EVERYBODY saw him as a white guy with bad manners.

It wasn't an an all white bar.:down

That's Galan not Galactus

Regardless its been SHOWN and STATED more than once (most recently in the Beta ray bill mini) through the years that Galactus appearance is different and unique to every species
Scary that the world destroyer by human perception is a giant white guy dressed in purple.

Which is kinda messed up when you think about it. As a species, humanity sees him as this giant, purple helmet having, white guy. Blacks, Asians, Native Americas all see the apocalypse in the form of a giant white guy with a bad fashion sense. Makes you think doesn't it?

hmph.

What I just said.

Not really

After all the grimm reaper is a flying black guy on Ski's

Black Racer isn't death,.... thats some white woman that thanos feens after,.. or some white guy in the older marvel comics,.. or some goth girl in vertigo.

Black racer collects you FOR DEATH.

Oh well.

I love busting Jormugand's balls everytime he posts. He constantly does not realize how stupid he sounds everytime he says something, which is usually stupid.

I find that last irritating,..... kind of two steps above simple stupidity.

Does he ever apologize when he insults with such a broad brush?

No,he's an idiot. He always says crap like "Oh I heard that JQ is doing this only because...." and all this other nonsense out of his ass.He says he's too busy running his anime/X-Men site where like nobody posts at all.

The man is a fool.

How does he expect to remain credible with this sort of 'tude?

(No I don't expect an answer from you on this,.. I may go ask him myself.)

I think Black Panther has a lot visual appeal. You just see him in costume and you think wow he looks cool. I call this the Spawn effect though as we know BP has a lot more substance than Spawn.

There is a "no nonsense" air about him as drawn.

No stylized poses,... All business.

I agree.

Hudlin needs more time to flesh out the characters and win more long-time Panther fans over. I've started enjoying his run consistantly from issue 10 onward,.. He writes a very good Cage,...
My only issue was his casual brush off of the dora. I was of the impression that they were "Wives in training" and political safeguards,.. princesses who were trained to augment and protect the King of Wakanda.

Yes as King he could choose to Marry whomever he wants,.. But they better do an issue covering the fallout of his not marrying one of the three princesses.

I just picked up the Wild Kingdom tpb and it was pretty good in my opinion.

Dumb villians, but it was fun.

I was on the Hudlin hate bandwagon now I'm slowly warming up to him, now that he's really playing around the greater Marvel U.

That was co-written by Milligan as well if I'm not mistaken, probably why it sucked (hardy har har).Kidding.

In terms of Reggie's BP,I want more stuff in the vain of Who Is The Panther? and Two The Hard Way.However, this wedding arc has really got me locked down.#14 exceeded my expectations.

Oooh! statements like that are just asking for trouble on these boards. Everyone on here seems to think Captain America is the second coming or something. Saying he can be beaten (even when it's obvious) is probably gonna ruffle a few of their feathers.

I liked Black Panther when Christopher Priest wrote him.

This new guy that Hudlin is writing just doesn't feel like the Black Panther to me.

He was the first black character( he came out in 1966- about the time the real life Black Panther Party was formed) to become a Marvel hero or heroine and was the forerunner for many of his ethnic brothers and sisters(Hispanics like Firebird or the Living Lightning, the late White Tiger, Canadians like Wolverine or Alpha Flight, even Russians like the Winter Guard).
Also he's a king in his own right- like Namor, Thor or even Dr.Doom( they're all white of course), and he's noty only as rich as Tony Stark but as much as a genius technologically(not the sort of things you associate with Africa-your usually think of Kleptocracies like Mobutu, Dictators like Mugabe e. famine, mismanagement and corruption)!
Terry

Without him there would be no Flalcon, Bishop, Luke Cage or other heroes of colour!

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the costume. But that was almost 30 years ago. What I like about him is his strength, his integrity, his ingenuity, his resourcefulness.
Additionally, being black myself, it's great to see these traits in a black hero-the first one ever printed. A guy who single-handedly overcame the Fantastic Four, b****-slapped the Devil, warded off an invasion of his country on multiple fronts & is now about to marry Storm. He is simply an awesome character. He's enigmatic. He's suave. He is a natural leader and a hell of a fighter.

I like the whole history behind the name. The title of Black Panther goes way back into the ancient times of Wakanda passed down through the ages,it's not just some billionaire's idea for a super-hero identity.

That's also a good reason that Black Panther is a great hero. Batman and Iron Man came about because some trillionaires Wayne and Stark, decided to be them. Captain America came about because these guy got scared of the Third Nazi thing and wanted to help his country...he would have died if he were just a soldier. Spider-man never wanted to be spider-man...Superman was raised by kind hearted people and so he "did the right thing" with his powers, upholding truth justice and the american way...but if he were raised by nazis he would have been a villain.

Black Panther though...He was one in a line. He was probablly considered to become Black Panther before he was 5. He was probablly taught of the courageous black panthers and learned of their skills and honor and wished to be like them.

Add to that, he had to fight is uncle for the title & has had to battle others to retain it.

One of many ways in which T'Challa stands apart from every other superhero ever written. I remember seeing an ad for the new series which read "Reed's brains, Cap's brawn, Iron Man's bank"; I don't think even that covers it.

If you throw in Elektra's stealth or something. you're probably pretty close.

I like him and I love how he's drawn now. That drew me. I'm black and I didn't know this many black folk were on these boards. Also why are ya'll arguing it's comics and it's good to have a black character that isn't the stereotype in the media.

He's smart, knows his history, loves his country, love African Americans even though he's African, and is cool with everybody. I like whos writing the stories now maybe because it's all the Black Panther I know. I'll have to go deeper into his roots and hopefully more exciting stories come after this marriage thing. He would be an awesome asset to the X-men. Him and Wolvie would have issues cause of their love for Storm.

I wish there was a series where BP, Blade, Cage and some of the other good black characters got together. I'm just happy to have a black character that has prominance. A King with money that has power is well known but has his hero side. He's the black Batman and it would be sick to have a worlds collide with these two. They are two of my favorite characters. I can see Bruce and T'challa hitting it off and having a great understanding as a team.

Oh and how do you say his name? T'challa?
