First Avenger Why Does Everyone Want a Body-Building Captain America?

I think that someone of DJ Qualls' build is needed to play "Pre SSS" Steve. They can superimpose the lead actor's face onto the skinny body (like they did for Tobey in Spiderman) What I don't want to see is a larger actor wearing baggy clothes pretending to be sickly skinny.

Totally;

Luckilly, we're at a stage were CG's advanced so much that they can do that convincingly.

Wait. That's how they did Peter before the Spider bite?

I always thought Tobey worked out. I mean, worked the f**k out.

He did work out; they just got a stand in (who was even skinnier that Tobey before he put some muscle on) for the shirtless scene and added Tobey's face onto it.

Well I'll be.

I never knew that. They did something similar on The Sopranos once when they took stock footage of an actress and digitally put her head on another actresses body and you could totally see it. Now I'm going to have to watch Spider-Man closer and see if I can see the CG work.

Yeah, look closely - It's like a split second thing after the bite when Peer arrives home ill- Peter whips off his top then collapses on the floor.

I thought they filmed that scene as soon as he signed on and then filmed him after he juiced...*cough cough* I mean worked out heavily for 4 months. I didn't know there was a stand in.:waa:

Hope you're joking!
You can easily get into that sort of shape if you have a nutritionist and personal trainer and don't have to balance a 9 to 5 existence.

Yeah, it was a joke. I'm in good shape but not that good. I got the 9-5 job thing. It's hard to eat good when your downtown.

I really did think that was him in Spidey one when he was skinny and sickly looking.

seriously though if you think these guys are not juicing then you are just being naive. Not only do they use them to get bigger they can use drugs like winstrol which basically makes you cut I bet the guys in 300 know what im talking about here

Hey im not judging anybody its not like they are in the olympics her they are just trying to accurately portray a role. To me its no worse then deniro putting on 60 lbs in raging bull or bale losing all that weight in the machinest probably just as healthy

Interesting. If those guys were juicing up for 300, then what's wrong about having the actor do the same? Except we don't have to see the guy's half-naked body throughout most of the film.

I would not care if I heard the actor playing Cap got caught juicing. Maybe he was just getting into the character after all Cap basically juices up himself

See... with the mention of DJ Qualls... I would actually like to see him play the pre-SSS Rogers, replaced by Duhamel after the treatment. I think that thee is enough of a resemblance, that can be further improved with CG (on Qualls, since he would have the fewer scenes).

I still say the Serum was a mutagen. Once the process was complete, he never had to use it again.

I was kind of kidding there but how far away are we from having a steroid that you only have to use once 10, 20 years. To me the its not whether the SSS is a steroid frankly I dont care he doesn't take it to hit home runs he takes it to fight for his country

We don't need steroids anymore. The myostatin research is the next field in muscle growth.

Matthew McConaughey.............I think he fits the criteria. Marvel has taken actors who were borderline A-listers, but not quite yet or used to be. I'm sure his pay range fits them perfectly. His facial structure and his physique are more than suited for the part as well.

That is true. Every role he has ever played, has been the same role. That older dude from Dazed and Confused that likes to bang high school chicks.
