World Why I love Spider-Man's costume

Oddly, he originally wore red and black. But like Batman and so many others, he fell victim to lazy inking and misinterpretations resulting from said lazy inking, and blue became his staple color.

The substitution of blue for the black works fine for the traditional costume, but I HATE when the symbiote/black suit is colored blue. It doesn't look as good as it does in its namesake color.

No, this is.

First is not matching...and two by the way i don't like black color is look like vodoo color or like black magic, because i hate it...Hero Colour in my opinion is like red, green or blue or light colour not dark colour like black, purple, or brown..yea just that my explanation about how must the colour for superhero.

I understand your point, though I don't entirely agree with it. I'd say there are certainly exceptions, like Batman, and it really depends on the hero.
So what do you think of Spider-Man's black suit?

What makes Black Suit Spider-Man badass, but not Venom?

To me, in terms of faithfulness, it has to be the Raimi suit. If we're talking about pulling the costume in to a slightly modern setting, I'll have to go with the reboot suit. I love the texture, the eyes... everything.
This is my stance.

What makes Black Suit Spider-Man badass, but not Venom?
Blck-suit spider look badass if i look from the movie how he's swinging more aggresive, strong, and more fast...jus that
Venom more look badass as we know, because he's have something is blck suit spidey haven't like bad teeth, long tongue, and yea great muscle...and scary face too...to frighten small children and elderly.

Oh, so you are talking about the movie versions?

I preferred the comic version over the Raimi film version.

It's sleek and bold in its design, which makes it really stand out.

The movie version weakened the design's sleekness by using webbing to compensate for the smaller spider symbol used in place of the large, wraparound symbol from the original design, and the boldness of the contrast of the white symbol against the black bodysuit.

I felt the movie version looked more like something he would actually wear. I was never in love with that wraparound symbol, especially since he wasn't the first (or last) to wear it. The key to Spider-Man's look is distinctiveness and he kinda lost that in the black suit.

The Mike Zeck design looks like something Spidey might wear to me. It looks like it could have been an alternate costume design Peter had in mind. I thought the black suit looked distinctive enough, and regardless of it's origins, the wraparound spider-symbol has become associated with Spider-Man's black suit and Venom.
When people see this:

They think of either symbiote Spider-Man or Venom, not the Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman.

How does this keep getting turned into a movie costume discussion?

Eh, at least it's sort of related.

You should see how the official news thread has turned into a lounge. :funny:

What I love about the classic Spider-Man red-&-blue (or red-&-black) costume is how it subverts one's expectations based on the name "Spider-Man", just like the character's personality. One might expect a "Spider-Man" to be a menacing, creepy figure of the night, with costume evoking imagery of a spider. Instead, he's your friendly neighborhood smart ass wearing a costume that I honestly doubt one could make look menacing if they tried (without completely overhauling it).
The webbed red areas (and red back spider) draw the eye to themselves very nicely, popping against the blue areas.

I also like many of Spidey's suits, the original, as well as the symbiote. For my book, I'm designing a new suit that be unlike any other of his suits. I'm also going to give it its own abilities. What abilities do you guys think would go good with the spider-man character & mythos?
