The Dark Knight Why So Serious Pumpkin -- ON TOPIC Discussion - DON'T MAKE ANY MORE!

It says applications accepted until 11:59 PM Nov. 17th on the submission page. That must mean we don't get anything before then.

Understand my rage now????

Hey, I have a crew of 5 already going to do it downtown Chicago. We have some other ideas since the Sears Tower is so small, you won't be able to see much of it. If you wanna join to form one big crew, let me know.

Hey all, I'm a long time reader, never really posted, so here I go.

First, I'm not a hater, I'm a massive bat-fan, and am extremely excited for TDK. Nolan is my God, etc.

However, my beef is with WB marketing. Up till now it has been extremely cool, but the amount of work required to get that one, albeit sweet, picture, was pretty unprecedented. Then there is this photo thing.

Does anybody else realize that they are using us to publicize the film for them? All they had to do was make a website, and now groups of people dressed as the Joker are going to be all over the nations landmarks? And only the winner gets anything? Free publicity for the film, and many of the fans are getting nothing in return.

Again, I'm not directing this toward the filmakers, and I'm still as pumped as ever for the movie, but the marketing department really screwed the pooch with this one. Using the fans? They could have at least been honest about it and said "Dress up like the Joker and advertise the freakin movie" or something, but they are using people with the promise of... well... potentially another picture:csad: Anybody agree with me?

The countdown wasn't to the end of the game, it was to the beginning.

And we all thought we could trust The Joker. After all he is a man of his word...lol

I wonder how many WB employees are on this board laughing at us?

Of course they're using us Adio. That's what goons are for. :woot:

I'm not laughing. I'm as angry as you guys. :cmad: :woot:

If we get another picture on Nov. 17th, 42 Entertainment will die. I'm a man of my word....

 November 17 is too far away, and we deserved more from that letter hunt.

I agree; but, sadly, we've been doing it for years.

Bob: "Hey, John, did you see that new *insert name* movie?"
John: "No. Haven't thought much about it."
Bob: "Well, you should. I thought it was the best movie of the year."
John: "Hmm, really?"
Bob: "Yeah. I'll go see it with you."
John: "Ok. Sure."

Does Bob win a prize? No!

Sad, but true.

If I like what you sent enough to push it like a baby carriage in front of the bus of public opinion, we'll send you a link to access your submission.

Nov. 17th?! You've got to be ****ting me! :cmad: They're really dragging this one out, and it pisses me off. Why the hell would they put a 2 week timer just for 1 "decent" picture on Halloween and then drag this out until December. What a waste of time...

Couldn't have said it better. I'm sure all those people who wasted their time are glad that they helped unlock one measly picture.

Good job, WB. :whatever:

I wonder what they are using us for ...

wtf november 17th??? theyre dragging this out way too long.....at this rate we'll have the trailer by may

Mine is a manip but at least I'm the only one that attempted to take one in front of a famous local landmark.

Welcome to the hype!

I can see your point.
It's a great marketing tool to keep people buzzing for the flick.
I see no real harm in it. People seem to be enjoying the interaction with the marketing.

If no one decided to post pics or solve puzzles etc
I can guarantee the studios would have released that picture anyway.

is whysoserious.com and rorysdeathkiss.com unavailable for anyone else right now?

I'm worried the amount of effort and time required by this marketing campaign will exasperate people to the point of losing interest until Dec 14, or potentially further afterwards.
