I hate the whole idea of random "celebrities" or wannabe "celebrities" getting free stuff when we work for hours on viral campaigns and have to go and collect cakes ourselves from annoying bakeries. The whole idea of giving free stuff to "celebrities" just to market the film seems to desperate to me. I thought the Dark Knight would be beyond trying to spread the word through ideots like Perez Hilton

The movie is already the biggest hyped film of 2008. They dont need random celebrities to increase its popularity. I think it is almost definatly going to be the biggest Batman yet (both at the Box office and in critical and fan response). I doubt people like Perez Hilton are going to make a difference to its impact.

People like Perez have a huge following, especially in the internet world. Just take a look at Youtube, his videos are consistently in the most watched list, every single week. This type of marketing is for the general audience. We've gotten our fair share already.

He supposedly knows Paris Hilton and she was the one who gave him a lot of the gossip he posted when he first started his site, so since he had a good source, a lot of his gossip got confirmed and people started going to his site more and he actually built a huge reader base, it's pathetic, hate him. And it's very sad I know this.
