since there were "problems" in script credit this time around, would he be willing to be involved with the script for a second feature?

hopefully he would be involved.. and continue the globe-trotting aspect here..

other countries to go to:

canada
china
pakistan
india
south africa
egypt

I know Penn has likely given us a good movie this time around but I'd want a different writer for the sequel. Only because I think the sequel will go into the emotions and character relationships a bit more than in this one and I just don't think Penn is very good at that. Norton should be involved in the script definately, though this time instead of having to patch up someone else's script he can be involved from the start.

For the last time, Norton didn't write the movie! He worked on a draft or two of the script, polishing a story that was already plotted out and written by Penn and others. You guys know **** about making movies. :whatever:

Excuse me but where in this thread did anyone say Norton wrote the script from scratch?

But to be fair to the above poster, writing the last draft of a script isn't hard at all. Penn did all the heavy lifting, it means he completely wrote it from scratch, start to finish, all dialogue complete, all set peices, everything, it was completely ready to be shot.

..Then Norton did a re-write, probably changing some dialogue slightly. For Penn to have wrote draft after draft, and then Norton to come in at the very end and do a draft means he couldn't have done anything drastic, just a few touch-ups.

Him being credited as "writing the screenplay" in everything I read and see about the film is pretty unbelieveable. Penn wrote the script, end of.

Actually Norton did make some big changes, hence the reason we won't be seeing hulk fight any whales in the film.

If that Thompson on Hollywood article that is featured on the SSH main page is correct then the question shouldnt be whether Norton will write a sequel script - it should be whether or not Norton even returns for the sequel at all;

The 'Norton's issues were with Marvel, which mislead him into believing that he would have more control over the picture than in fact he did' line sent a shiver down my spine.

Having just returned from seeing the movie - I definately want Norton to reprise the role of Banner but if he believes that he cannot trust Marvel????

That doesnt look good.

I hope once this film is successful, Marvel will reach a deal for Norton and Leterrier to have more fun with exploring the Hulk's character. But I'm always an optimist.

I really really REALLY hope this movie picks up at the box office over the 4th of July weekend... I think if the domestic is 150+ million, it will be viewed as very successful & we'll get a sequel announced...

Norton has made comments about how TIH was a "chapter one" & that there is much more of the story yet to unravel... Which I hope means that he has serious interest in coming back to tell the rest of the story.

Assuming a sequel is greenlit, I would hope Marvel would have the sense to pay Norton whatever he wants to reprise his role & (equally important) to write the script(s) for the next chapter(s). If they have to re-cast Banner, we won't see another Hulk movie.

Norton did make changes to Penn's script but Penn's core story was still there.

Norton couldn't make really big changes as shooting locations were already chosen so he could only fix up on dialogue and make a few changes like adding or removing characters and scenes.

Apparantly, Norton removed "cheesy cameos" and Rick Jones from Penn's script but included Dr Leonard Samson.

Poor Rick, he never gets a rool in the film :) Maybe the third time is the charm.
