For all we know the time jump could've already happened in batman begins. From the time alfred and bruce were rumaging through the burnt mansion to that quick clip of the batsignal w/ gordon and batman talking.

Now that I think about it that WAS the Jump. He did'nt all of a sudden have a batsignal in two days. Gordon says. We STILL have'nt caught crane or half the inmates of gotham.

So I'm guessing it was at most a 3 month jump

You're right actually. In the BB novelization it had been almost 4-5 months since Bruce last put on the cape and cowl.

Now that I think about it the film had a couple of time Jumps in it. From the time Bruce first got to The LOS HQ He had a full blown blue flower and by the time the second flashback was over the flower looked like it could turn to dust if you blew on it.

No doubt there was a number of time jumps in the film. He was gone for a long time when he went to join the LOS

I'm thinking there was time gap of no more than 2-4 weeks between when Bats fought on the train with ra's to when he met Gordon and talked about Joker. And then i think there should be a space of 3 months between that and the beggining of TDK.

In between batman could have upgraded the suit, some weapons and most importantly the cave, aswell as his search for Joker. With the best contracters a man as rich as Wayne could have got them to complete about 60% of the mansion again in that time

I don't think 3 months is enough time to rebuild the house/bat cave, and without his home, they may find it difficult to upgrade his inventory

I could've sworn Nolan said something along the lines of TDK picking up right after BB.

I think that could have something to do with the themes and the mood that Begins leaves off with, like the whole concept of escalation and such.

three years, as far as I know

Really? I thought it seemed like almost no time had really passed....a year, at most.

Which is where the confusion alot of people seem to find themselves at. We know he spent 7 years going around the globe......the question is how much of that time was spent with the League and how much was spent learning other skills? Seemed like a year, maybe 2 at most, could have been passed with the League. I think in the book that's how much time he spent there, actually.

Well.....TDK can cheat a little, if they want.

They can have the ending to Batman Begins take place a month or so after the Ra's showdown. That type of time jump is nothing, really.

I say, TDK will have to be about a year or close to a year after Batman Begins.

Namely, b/c if we want a Batcave.....a modified Batcave, actually as hinted in BB, and Wayne Manor.....that's pretty much an acceptable time frame for that to be rebuilt.

Of course, they don't have to do that. They could always pull off what the comics did way back when, and have Bruce stay in a high class penthouse using some other mobile headquarters (ie, sewer system or abandoned subway route) until the Mansion and Batcave are ready, which can be rebuilt and ready by the middle of the film if they wanted.

I dunno, they've got options. Good options.

The Rebel Alliance needed time to move their base of operations from Yavin IV to Hoth, Luke became a hero an respected soldier in the Alliance, Darth Vader returned and learned about "this Skywalker", Han became General (I think, need to watch those movies again), Jabba searched for Han a long time before he decided to work with Vader....a lot happend between Episodes IV and V

No, but it is enough time to have done substantial work on it. He still has the cave to upgrade, and that is where he does all his work.

It should still be primitve imo, not a super-tech room yet. I think Bruce is capable of putting a raised platform(so to escape the water) in there and some laptops and other technical equipment in there.

I just think fans and audiences would prefer to see the Mansion back up, instead of being there for all the "in-between" stuff. Could kick up the detective aspect we got from Begins, maybe even have some of Batman hunting down escaped Arkham imates too while following leads on Joker.

I do hope we get that Grandfather Clock too. We stole that from Zorro...but damn is it a nice steal.

Dont care. But maybe we have a yearS gap with Rachel Dawes looking so old.

i was going to post this topic! damn..oh well. yea i think the movie could have something near the beginning like, 'Joker still on the loose' or something. to show theres been some time that has passed and batman is still trying to track him down. but i like the idea of maybe him getting caught in the beginning then he plots revenge in arkham. oh and yea get that mansion put back up.
