The Dark Knight Will the Joker eveh be the same?

I'm sure it can be made to work in the film, because the film can simply ignore the possibilities like the one above. But it wouldn't work in the comics- these eventualities have to be explored in that arena.

Oh yea I agree, I don't think Lee's graphic novel is make up on his Joker?

I could be wrong.

I doubt it. Hopefully not. Wouldn't want to see Bermejo's carved-smile Joker replacing the classic look.
Agreed, that look is horrible.

The movie version's alright for the movie, I'm still not a big fan but it's growing on me. Since he looks a little different in different scenes.

Sometimes he looks a bit more classic. But that carved B.S. is dumb. Just 'cause he looks one way in the movie doesn't mean you go changing a great character that's been around since 1940! Just 'cause they did something new in a movie. No fads.:hoboj:

They will never get rid of the "classic" look what ever that may be. Because if we are talking the original Kane stuff, even all the comics got exaggerated. Lee, Sale, even my fav Bolland they put so much exaggeration to the jaw, or teeth, or nose. Which does change the facial shape of the "original" Kane Joker.

I think there is no problem having some off world, off shoot Lee stuff in there, do I want replacing? No. The classic Joker will always remain. But I have a feeling a lot of artists will start to make the new look and just have fun with it. Something new and different. Just as much as Bolland and the greats changing the face of the Joker to be more exaggerated in aspects of his face.

But I love the scar smile, just as Burton giving a new twist of having a surgery perma-smile. I think the scar just gives an exaggeration to the smile that the comics can achieve but the movies cannot. Just a big scary grin that is always smilling. I love the dark approach to it.

Yet it is cool to see how many people are starting to grow to like the new Joker, I've heard that from so many. I have a feeling many will enjoy and like Heath's/Nolan's new interpertation cuz it does seem clear that the spirit of the Joker remains.

But yea bud I don't think there is any worry Joker will be around in all shapes and sizes and the old looks will never disappear.

Not if he is incarcerated in Arkham for a few months.

So what, it's just one more reason for him to want out. You can cover your eyes during those parts if need be.

True. I suppose I could go for a p*ss or something.

Took me a number of months...now I finally like the look of The Dark Knight's Joker.:cwink:

I like it on its own terms, I just don't think it works for the character it's supposed to represent. As an elseworlds, its great.

It's probably not what I would've done, but I really like the look in and of itself. It's aesthetically pleasing (in its grotesquery), which is something I wasn't expecting after seeing that first terrible WSS pic.
