If there is another thread where this has been discussed I apologize in advance. I was starting to wonder how it will be possible for Marvel to get a second movie ready for 2009 with the impending strike. I know Marvel is looking at Cap or Nick Fury or even Ant man as another possible movie. However, with no announcement and deadlines approaching, I'm left wondering how they could pull off another movie in such a tight span of time.
If anyone hear has some information about this please let me know. I realize Marvel HAS to have two movies per year, but at this point it doesn't seem possible. If I'm way off the mark let me know that too, but I didn't see any of the other possible marvel movies at the big list of films making the rounds recently. Thor was on the list, but nothing else. Here's to hoping Marvel can pull another one together.

Marvel has said that Captain America is their next big priority movie.

Thor is filming sometime this winter from what I heard (due to the strike.)

I think we can expect Cap for a July 2009 release, and Ant-Man for like a February 2010 (think Daredevil/ Ghost Rider.)

I realize that Marvel has SAID they want another movie in 2009 and are trying to put one together. However, at this point I just don't see it happening. Things could change quickly and I hope they do. If they announce something in the next couple of weeks and have everthing already in place outside of casting they may still have a shot.
I would hate to see a Cap movie rushed before the strike. However, they could be much farther along than anyone realizes on Cap or Nick Fury. Let hope so!

Too bad the couldnt do a 2099 movie in 2009, i think it be kinda cool.

Is Wolverine or Magneto schedualed for 2008 or 2009, maybe Punisher 2 for 2009?
or do you mean a second film from the Paramount deal?

Yes, I'm refering to Marvel Studios and their deal with Paramount. I realize Marvel will probably have other movies out that year with different studios. I'm only talking about the Merril-Lynch deal with Paramount. I probably should have been more clear about that.
You're right, Magneto will more than likely come out in 09, possibly even Namor with Universal. The only other films talked about for 09 from Marvel Studios are Cap, Nick Fury or Ant-Man for the second slot.

2009 is full... it's not gonna be Captain America... they are saving that for their 2010 tentpole... then they can slip in IM2/Avengers/Hulk 2 the next year. But you can't put Captain America with the likes of Magneto, and JLA. Probably a smaller budget film.

All three of those films aren't being done by Marvel Studios, though. As for your question, Wolverine and Punisher are 2008 while Magneto is 2009.

Could you stop saying that? You don't know any of that. And what we do know disagrees with you. Marvel has already said that Cap was their next big priority after Iron Man, so I think it stands to reason that it'll be accompanying Thor.

And what is this "2009 is full" bs? '09 is pretty empty compared to '07 and '08.

I hope we get another Marvel movie for 09. I didn't like the fact that X3 was the only movie we got last year.

Marvel Studios has to do two films per year. And even if they didn't, there's already Magneto and Silver Surfer (assuming it doesn't make it into '08) for 2009.

I could see a smaller movie such as Ant-Man being the second film. I doubt it will be Captain America. I'm thinking that wont see the light of day until 2010.

How is 09 empty? Avatar... Narnia 3 is in that slot as well I believe. Thor will need a good week before and week after it with modest competition. Transformers has eyed given a preliminary release date for their sequel in 2009 as well. JLA is pretty much going to open in June or July... you are confident C.A can be within a two week span of that film and not be affected? But just keep in mind... there is no director... the script hasn't been completed.. and we have been hearing more and more about Panther/Luke Cage than Captain America. That's what I am basing that on.

get Steven Spielberg to direct a Marvel film, now that Dreamworks is part of Paramount Pictures.. They should also try to get Michael Bay after Transformers 2..
