The Amazing Spider-Man 2 With Great Sequel Comes Great Lounging - Part 7

I actually bet this movie ends up with a pretty high RT rating, mid 80s or higher, but that most of those positive reviews come off at least slightly mixed, if not bordering on negative. All we should do is look at them and see if they're fresh or rotten, no deeper investigation is needed IMO.

Focusing on all the critiques, especially in the positive reviews, is pointless to me. They're paid to be critical, so all I care about is if they overall found it to be good/'fresh'. Just my own personal plan of action, and those in the same hopeful, anticipatory mindset as me should maybe stick with this approach as well. We'll go a little less crazy

That said, if they end up being 'rotten,' then my theory's out the window, and fuhhhhh*k

Critiques are important though, and I'd like to think the writers/directors/actors pay attention towards reactions and responses, otherwise how can you improve? That's why it always irks me when people say things like "I don't care what people think", okay, then hope you don't mind me not caring about your work. Some people value different things. Sure, most probably expect for this movie to just be big dumb fun, but that's too easy to do in the grand scheme of things, things can be fun and clever too.

When do you guys think more official RT reviews will go up? Late tonight maybe?

Man those 3D glasses are dope. I thought the glasses they have out for the TASM were the best but these are nice. (They were basically sorta square wayfarer type glasses with a bunch of blue and red.) Kept them too.

More people I think should raise their standards so that we can hopefully get better made movies. Ever notice how when a critically acclaimed film becomes big it tends to blow up more than just your run-of-the-mill blockbuster? I'd say that's an indicator of something.

3D glasses look sick. Here's hoping they have those at my theatre.:woot:

I never saw the first one in 3D, but I'm definitely catching this in IMAX 3D for at least 1 of my viewings. After seeing how incredible the trailers alone on just a regular cinema screen looked, I feel like I just can't pass up the 3D and IMAX experience for this one

Check out the 3D glasses people at the premiere wore:

Dammit! I wish I could be there! *bangs head against wall* Must have been a magical feeling watching the movie on premiere day with all them enthusiastic people.

TeeKay, do any of the fights hold their own against some of Raimi's best fights?

My theaters never have "alternate" 3D glasses. Or maybe they do and I'm just not aware of it.

Now I wish TeeKay's version of the final battle should have been in the film. I wanted a little hand to hand combat with Spidey

How about the Times Square and Clocktower fights?

Times Square: 9/10
ClockTower: 10/10

Marc Webb captured more of Spidey's movements, iconic poses etc and did some really cool ****. So yeah, they do hold their own but I hate comparing. If you loved the high school fight in TASM, you're gonna love the fight scenes in this movie even more.:woot:

Do you think that your score for the Clocktower will go down since they may have changed it?

I thought the high school fight in TASM1 was okay. It wasn't all that amazing to be honest, but I did love the web cocoon with Lizard. Do you think the fights excel those in TASM1?

The high school fight in TASM is akin to the power plant battle only wider in scope and longer. The fights scenes rival the train fight in SM2 imo especially the Clocktower battle which was straight up mano-a-mano. Brutal and intense.:woot:

Man, I was just over on imdb and they do not like the film at all. I feel a bit relieved by the twitter reactions. Will check in again in another 8-9 hours

Well that's good to hear! :)

Yeah, it wasn't so much the fights in TASM1 as it was Spidey's behavior and movements. That was really something to see. Very creative.

Maybe to those people the "bad" movies you're alluding to WERE the best they'd ever seen. It's literally all opinion. Film isn't something we can measure scientifically. Otherwise critics wouldn't disagree with each other as much as they do.

I guess I can only tell you how I felt after walking out of Spider-Man 3, I thought it was great once I left, but after I let it sink it I saw it for the pretty mediocre movie it was. The hype got to me, made me think it was better than it was. I hope none of this is hype and it's genuine praise, all I am saying is that any opinion I take right now I will measure it with a bit of skepticism be it negative or positive opinion.

I would like to have another fight, just like the SM2 train fight, that makes my heart race.
