Yeah but you still have to have a balance that was something spider man 3 didn't have and sounds like may be a problem again. Its all about the right balance with the store and villans and everthing. I rember back before the reboot when we thought spider man 4 was going to happen they said after spider man 3 that they would never use more then 2 villans in any spider man movie maybe it would be better if they did use just 1 villan again.
Remove the villains, and all the main characters you have in the movie is 4 characters, or a little more
Seems like they have a more legit balance this go around

Oh no. Sony edited out a bunch of stuff from the trailers.
The Harry/Peter scene at Oscorp is gone
The web design joke is gone
The "we have plans for you, Peter Parker" line is also gone

In the trailers, Harry asks Peter "
So what are you up to"?
And peter replies, "I do some web design"

spider man 3 just made me parinod lol. Hopefully we will start getting a lot of good to great reviews then I can not wore has much lol.

At the same time reviews have said that it focus to much on peter and gwen that may not be a bad thing if the villans take a back seat. Spider man 2 was a lot about peter and losing his powers and not wanting to be spider man and had kind of a long streght of the movie with out him fighting dock ock and the moving was great.

The score also went up in IMDB to an 8.0.

So, 86% in RT and 8.0 in IMDB. Not bad at all.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but Spider-Man 3 had a very, very similar and good start to its run too. Just look through this thread.

Tons of 3/5s, and a lot of good reviews.

While I like that movie, it did end up moving to more mixed/lukewarm reviews. Some great some bad as well.

Just an fyi.

Man that thread is a trip down nostalgia lane.

So many posters in there that are no longer around now.

Let's hope it can maintain steam and the US critics don't do their thing when it releases here lol

I feel that other than the usual negative reviews that come with superhero films, this is getting a great reception. :yay:

Whatculture posted the latest RT fresh review, but it doesn't sound that positive:

http://whatculture.com/film/amazing-spider-man-2-review.php

It criticizes Paul Giamatti's acting and says that Marc Webb takes too many "shortcuts" to get to the good stuff. TASM2 is referenced as the third best Spider-Man film, so I'm assuming th author is putting it behind SM1 and SM2?

At first, I thought that the general criticism of the film would be the overcrowding and the messiness of the script. Now, some of the other criticisms are related to the acting too.

This movie could be pretty polarising imo. But, one thing is for certain. The script, described in so many interviews as rich and layered, is haphazard in a way.

So much for making it a fun superhero film. Some people just don't get it. :whatever:

Don't forget that the critics are supposed to dissect every frame of the film. As we've seen, they take one small thing and they make it a HUGE deal. The fans simply do not watch a movie that way.

Well the one video review I was watching basically said that Max Dillon has like 15 minutes of screen time before becoming Electro, so there is an example of a villain being shortchanged. Then he said that after Harry Osborn finds a certain something out, he literally goes and becomes Goblin almost immediately, and his final "fight" with Spider-Man is really short.

This might be the "shortcuts" that critics are referring to.

I thought that 15 minutes in a film is like a century. Also, as we know, there are a lot of things that push Harry over the edge.

Did Sevenwebheads go to the premier? Also, I wasn't online last night. How were the Twitter reactions from the premier? Mostly positive, negative? Mixed?

That's what i thought, but he hasn't posted his review yet.

That's a fine review by London City Nights. Got me all fangasming.

Yes, 15 minutes is a lot I think, and it's not just 15 minutes in a row. You probably get 2 minutes of Max in the beginning (getting saved by Spider-Man), another 2 minutes of him at Oscorp talking to Alistaire, then 3-4 minutes here and there of us seeing his obsession growing with Spider-Man. Then boom--he becomes Electro!
