Wolverine sucks

So I'm way more heavy into comic books than my friends are save for one.(Though, that particular one wasn't there at the time.) So my friends and I get to playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and I one of them saids,"Yo, I want Wolverine." Then the other gets angry,"No I want to play as him"
So I but in,"Who cares, as long as I get Spiderman."
Thats when they just look at me. They pause and then after few moments respond,"Man, Spiderman sucks. Don't put that bumb on our team."
And I'm in shock. Spiderman being my favorite hero, I had to defend him.
"What!? How does Spiderman suck? He could kick Wolverines ass."

...That was the wrong thing to say around these three.
"What!!?? No one can beat Wolverine!! No one!!!"
"But Spiderman is stronger than him. He could knock him out." I say
"What!!! Wolverine would just slice that man no one can beat him!!"
It went on like that for awhile, then I respond"Okay, so no one can beat Wolverine." I say"What about Magneto"
They think for a second because they know I have them in a spot.
"Yeah but thats it."they repsond.
So I continue.
"Only Mags?! What about Juggernaut?"
"No"
"What?! Yes he could!!! Captain America could too."
"No"
"But I have a comic where Cap beats Wolverine. And one where Juggs beats him too. And Spiderman!!!"
"Who ever wrote that sucks as a writer."

These statements and outburst left me with one conclusion. My friends were Wolverine fanboys and probably think Wolverine can take on Galactus and win. They even stated that he can beat Thor.

This is the type of crap that causes Wolverine to win crossover fights with Lobo!!!!

And theres only one thing I blame for this, the media.Especially since my friends aren't heavy comic readers.
If Wolverines screen time in the xmen movies wasn't so long and ridiculous this breed of fanboy would never have been created. Even video games cartoons overhype this guy too much. The media needs to stop making Wolverine look like this invincible overlord and script him how he should be.
And the way he killed was written as killing Phoenix in X-3 is a prime example. Wolverine officially sucks to me and my friends are idiots.

Point out that sabertooth beats wolverine routinely.
Bring up the fact that Lobo killed off his own race, and has way better regeneration powers than wolverine. Can survive in space and can sit on a nuke or two and get a laugh out of it. Nothing can kill him, not even superman.
That’s hard to argue against.

Wolverine's a fan favorite and ppl who know little about the character defend him based on popularity. Same happens with Spiderman, heck try making another Spiderman vs Superman post, and watch as ppl claim Spidermans agility is faster than the speed of light and that he could whup Superman with both arms tied behind his back.

Wolverine's my favorite character, but I know Juggs and Magneto whup him. On Spiderman and Cap tho I heavily disagree, with Spiderman I do think Wolverine takes him 6 outta 10 times, and takes Cap 7 outta 10 if not more. You pointed out a comic where Cap wins, well more recently Wolverine had to be pulled off of a Cap who had ever advantage (the Wolverine slaying sword Masamue (Sp?)), and his shield, with Wolverine unable to use his claws, and Wolverine still walked away and Cap had to be carried off. Not a bash on Cap, just don't get selective with fights and facts . They've fought plenty of times and Cap hasn't won them all. On the Spidey thing it's pure speculation, and while their both close favorites logic just leans a bit in Wolverine's favor for me.

But ya mainstream popularity can hurt a character more than it can help sometimes.

He can also toss in that Sentry owned him recently, and that he used to actually be afraid of Cyber. Omega Red beat him once before in a near 60 hour fight, but I can't remember the exacts of it, just that they were in a chamber fighting, scientist were watching and stunned the fight went on 60 some odd hours, then said stop, and Wolverine passed out and Omega Red was standing.

wolverine is like the WORST hand to hand fighter in the MU when you think about it. He routinely fights unarmed opponents (spidey, daredevil, anyone) and can rarely connect with his foot long claws while the other guy connects routinely. Once in a while he barely scratches them after getting punched numerous times. He sucks.


*yeah yeah I know what you're saying. If they made it realistic, he wouldn't be left with anyone to fight with since all his opponents would be sliced up. Well then why the heck did you give him those stupid claws anyway? should have thought about that first you MU idiots!
