Wolverine VS. Sentinel clip

I would like any of you who think Halle and Hugh's performance in this clip was poor to tell me if you are a Theatre Major or have had experience acting...

Hell no!

But we are expected to use our imaginations. ;)

God people, listen to yourselves. Ya know, the baseless rants in this thread provides the answer why critics and studios never take Fanboys seriously:

* We beg for Sentinels. We get them. We whine and moan.

* We ask for a CGI Collossus. We get him. We cry bloody war.

* We want Storm and Logan to be more like their comic counterparts. We get actual dialogue lines from the comics. We complain.

* We beg for a Fastball special. We get it. We say it's "Ghey".

Fickle, much?? Some of us need to get over ourselves. Seriously.

I never wanted such things:down:

I wasn't a theater major...but I am a theater snob (I've seen Hugh on stage 5 times!), I think they're both fine actors.

And again, I'm not jumping to conclusions about anything over one little clip.

all you disbeleivers should come see me, because this clip was great and anyone who says other wise will be set ablaze!

You aren't from the 'National Front' are you? j/k (I hope). What's wrong with a range of accents other than broad American? As for there possibly being a ridiculous of accents other than American, how is that? I can only think of a small minority of the cast that are characterised as having strong accents.

Though I don't mind Pyro not having his accent I can't help but feel that they're ignoring the character. Being an Aussie is a characteristic of the original, he needn't have an accent but the lack of it makes me think they haven't paid attention to an obvous detail. Sure the story doesn't really suffer but it is still taking away from the feeling of staying true to the comics.

I just think the movie would get silly having a large number of insanely varied accents (of course, I'm sure I'm picturing the most stereotypically bad accents in my head--"Pyro will toast you to bits" - I don't remember where that's from, but it makes me laugh).

Hmmm . . . maybe I'm thinking there are more accents than there actually are.

You'd think that people as imaginative as I desperately hope that you all are could think of something more constructive to do.

:D If I smile it doesn't sound as mean.

what the hell are you talking about?

They did awful. The dialogue and performances were jaw-droppingly awkward (especially from Halle, who continually proves that she really can't act with each successive project).

You mean your "jaw dropped" right? As in your opinion? Because I didn't have that reaction whatsoever...my jaw never moved. :o

As far as Halle "continually proving that she really can't act with each successive project"--the fact that she's still racking up awards, nominations and topping the media and mainstream reader's/viewers "Best-Whatever" lists proves that many millions of people disagree with your opinion.

And by the way, I thought her "Logan, don't do this" line was terrible. But that doesn't mean she's a hack actress in my opinion.

Just because some fans have a wishlist of what they want included doesn't mean that they should like the quality of it when it's given. Just cause I want a pair of new Jordans for my birthday doesn't mean I should enjoy the fact that they're 2 sizes too small, pre-worn, and have holes in them?

And I have to disagree that some of the criticism is baseless. It's there for our viewing (finished or not). They don't appear wholecloth out of nowhere. The thing is opinions can change. Sure there's a possibility that the quality of Colossus's CGI will be better, if not awesome. But we're basing our opinions (well most of us) on the here and now. IF this is indeed what Colossus is going to look like, THEN this is my opinion of it. IF it will, in fact, be better when the movie comes out, THEN I will adjust my opinion to reflect that.

Well, I liked the clip. :)

She's no longer racking up awards.

And she's done nothing but suck in the X-Men films, DIE ANOTHER DAY, CATWOMAN, and so on. She occaisionally turns in decent work, but she's also capable of turning in some remarkably poor work as well.

It, of course, is ultimately my opinion - and in my opinion, she positively sucked in that clip. I wish she was far, far away from this franchise. Many better actresses could have been cast in her role.

No thanks he's out ruining another franchise.

edit-im not saying he did bad in x-men but i didn't like his overwhelming wolverine spotlight thing.

Yeah, I know what you mean by bad accents. I blame the cartoons. For some reason they lap up over acting. I expect better from films though.

As for the range of accents I can only think of a few characters from the main cast. I only count them as they get the most lines. Not to mention that it would seem to Anglo-American centric if it's just them. Though you have your opinion and I have mine.
