Woman dumps kitten in garbage...in public

That doesn't make it okay to deprive one of food for 15 hours.

I never said it did, just pointing out that it's unlikely that the cat would have starved in a trashcan like that, at some point someone would have come along and found it.

If it was some box out in the middle of nowhere then yeah, but it was a trash bin on th street, the kind that people take out to the curb for the garbage men to pick up.

Garbage men? Nowadays around here it's automatic - the truck has a lever that picks up the can and dumps in the contnets. If the neighborhood had one of those and the cat hadn't been found in time, the poor cat would have been SOL.

For those saying the cat could have gotten out on its own, according to the news reports, it was in there for 15 HOURS until someone finally heard it making noise. If it hadn't gotten out on its own in 15 hours, obviously it couldn't get out. If someone hadn't come along, it could very plausibly have starved to death.

And as for the woman not intending to leave it in there until it died....uh, yes she did. She threw it in, put the lid on, and walked away. Obviously she didn't give a **** if it got out or not.

And you're right, I probably shouldn't be calling her a ****e. The term for a female dog fits her much better.
Agreed.

Even with that being the case someone would of had to take the trashcan to the curb for it to be picked up.

I had the notion that the trashcan was already out by the curb. Did you think the woman actually went up this couple's driveway just to dump a cat into a trash can? IIRC (I'm still at work) the video clearly shows her dropping the cat in and then walking down the street, not down a driveway.

Also, it's a garbage can. Cat starves to death in a garbage can that's just natural selection.

Animal Cruelty often pisses me off far more than seeing other sick videos of people getting killed or something. (Domestic) Animals are so innocent that its disturbing there are people like that in the world.

Domestic animals like dogs and cats are often infinitely trusting of people.

The trashcan is behind a gate up against another gate, it's a good distance away from the curb.

That's why I said also that there's a good chance the cat might of hopped in their on it's own anyway.

Have we learned nothing from the animated cats of our youth? They thrive in situations like this, and always come back in the next scene no worse for wear.

It's funny that people are all up in arms about this and they own pets. Owning a pet is like putting an animal in prison. It's not natural to throw an animal in a cage for their entire life without letting them roam the way nature built them. If you were an animal what would you rather have? Would you rather go wherever you want and hunt when you want, or would you rather have your reproductive capabilities away while being somebody's personal toy?

I wouldn't throw a cat in the trash by the way, but if you own a pet you are probably doing something worse to that animal than what this lady did.

*puts on flame suit*
Take off your flame suit buddy, I feel the same way you do. After I grew attached to my old dog and cat I never wanted to feel that responsibility and terror of losing them ever again. But my mom went and got me 2 cats and I fell in love with both of them. The thing is man went against the grain and domesticated animals, so therefore it is our responsibility to protect and care for them. We are among only two species that own pets the other is ants. I feel bad for my cat Joey when he wants to go outside, and I have to supervise him; I just can't tell him that there are stupid jerks who get off being cruel to lesser creatures, coyotes and other animals that want to eat him. But hey, in a way I can relate. I'm a black male who looks Pakistani, and everybody wants to kill me. :cmad:

Like dressing them up in little animal clothes?

Hell no!!! Those people who do that to their pets should be bound and gagged.

Considering how the stray cats meow and beg for food outside our door, I'd say they'd rather be somewhere comfortable and fed, even if they have to give away their reproductive capabilities. :funny:

And possessing reproductive capabilities is completely overrated for female cats. Cat penises are spiny.

Spiny? Ewwwwwww.

And how do you know this Anita-I-Need-a-Burrita? Double ewwwwww.

I'm pretty sure I learned that watching Trials of Life when I was 11. :funny: I was/am a science junkie.

You do realize that "nature" isn't as grand, glorious, and/or safe as you are making it out to be. There are predators in nature that will kill the cat. The cat will have to hunt for food to stay nourished and defend against random attackers out in the wild. They are in no way guaranteed the safety and nourishment a human home can provide compared to the wild. A human home offers a stable environment for which the cat is much more assured to live a longer life. Food, water, shelter, and plenty of places to be naughty. And if you are a good owner, you spoil your cat with treats and love and fun crap to crawl around on and play. You play with your animal and even get it other animal friends to play with.

And a home isn't a cage...that's just ridiculous. If it's a tiny house and you own too many pets...then DER. Homes are often plenty big for cats to get a great to infinite amount of enjoyment from.

So...given the chance and the capacity for understanding, I'm sure tons of creatures would rather live in a stable human home than have to roam the wild.

And with that I say: Your view is very narrow minded.

One thing I have to say about cat owners...

... you people are weeiirrd.

Dogs FTW.

Yeah, those are the types we use for those green bins in the Uk, the automatic tipping machine. If the bin had been taken out to the pavement without the owners opening it again to dump anymore rubbish, the cat could well have got dumped in there if no-one heard it.
I never quite thought of the chance of that happening, I just thought, she put it in the bin, quite cruel but someone would find it, but there was the chance no-one would have.

It said on the news that the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is looking into bringing charges against her of some nature.

Exactly. Heathcliff would have loved to be in this situation.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love dogs too, but dogs ALWAYS love you back. They're total sweethearts. But they're slobbery and you actually have to wash them and let them outside to go potty. :funny:

Cats are more fickle, so it's magic when one comes up to you and shows you affection. :funny: Just this morning the stray from outside begged to be let in and fed and refused to go out, rubbing my leg when I was trying to shoo her back outside, as if saying, "Noooo, let me staaaay!" She apparently hisses at everyone but us. So that makes us special. :yay:

"I thought it would be funny..." HA! :woot:

That's the best excuse that she could come up with? Funny to who? To you? Because at the time the only person that was going to know she did that was herself. That is just some borderline serial killer crap.

Next time a guy kills someone and gets caught should say, "Well, I thought it would be funny...". HA!

It is pretty hilarious that this woman has to have police protection. People really love their dogs and cats. :oldrazz:
