They say that George Lucas was completely unaware of how despised his Prequels were until an interviewer mentioned it several years later. Lucas said, "They hated them? I'm surprised. They were very successful financially."

When you start a franchise with a masterpiece (like Star Wars, or Wonder Woman 2017) people will come back to watch every sequel in the hopes that it recaptures some of that original magic.

So yes, people viewed WW84 with great anticipation, especially in the first day or so, and then word of mouth spread, and it sank like a rock.

I'm looking forward to WW3. Here's hoping Patty learned from her mistakes. Or is she in a bubble like Lucas was?
