There is absolutely no question about it. James Wong has never directed a film as important as this one. Final Destination? Come on. No way.

This is the only reason why I think he'll do a decent job. He knows he needs this opportunity - so does Chatwin. James Wong is an intelligent guy too, that could help.

Hopefully they'll use the fact that Goku goes to school as a plot element to illustrate just how much Goku doesn't fit into typical civilized society by having him act just like himself.

That is pretty much the definition of cliche.

It's used in basically every teen drama ever made.

I wonder will Goku in the movie have the insanely cheerful personality he has in the anime? It always struck me as funny how he'd seem not to take things too seriously, almost naively, on the outside which threw opponents off.

Man, I told my friend Michael who is a massive DB fan BTW about the particulars of this movie (Highschool, no krillin, no tien, no oolong, Mai working for Piccolo, etc) and he got really angry. And I can't say that his anger was unjustified. He was most angered by the fact that these wonderful characters who have tons of DB history and are important to the story were left out, while those high school characters were included in their place! He's about to lump this movie in with Superman Returns...another one he loathes.

And I can't say that his anger was unjustified. He was most angered by the fact that these wonderful characters who have tons of DB history and are important to the story were left out, while those high school characters were included in their place! He's about to lump this movie in with Superman Returns...another one he loathes.

We can't actually say that there's no Krillen or Tien, for all we know they may either appear at the end of this movie or be developed in the next movie. As for Oolong, he's never been a major character & I'll be glad to see that he's not in this movie as well as Chaozu & Puar.

I'd absolutely love it if Tien, Yamcha, & Krillen got bigger roles in the sequels, specifically the Android saga. I'd like to see other people attempting to fight Cell at the Cell Games besides Goku & Gohan. I felt that Toriyama didn't do as much as he could have with the end of that saga because only two people fought Cell. I would've liked to have seen how much Piccolo, Vegeta, & Trunks progressed, even if it wouldn't have been by much.

I want to see Piccolo, Vegeta, & Trunks at least try to go up against Cell with them each losing. Then, Goku steps in, fights Cell to a virtual standstill, quits, & then tells Gohan to fight.

In my opinion, the dragon needs to be big but not as big as in the manga/anime, that would be too big.
