What are your worries about the snyder reboot?

1. That the movie, like Sr, will be too biased towards one version of Superman. The original reports have said that the reboot would mainly take from "Man of Steel", a book that is polarizing among many Superman fans. The lesson of SR should be that Superman has a 75 year history. Ignoring the past is just as bad as SR ignoring the present.

2. I feel like this movie could easily end up being...disappointing. First, there's the fact that this movie's only being made so WB can keep the movie rights. Second, there's the whole "origin" thing again, which seems to be an attempt to cash in on the "Reboot" craze. People are already becoming cynical about the origin format, and rightfully so.

Other than that, the movie looks like its shaping up nicely.

I don't think a movie HAS TO suck just because it's being made to keep the rights. :)

Anyway, here are my worries:

1. Snyder's overuse of (bad) CGI. Like the tiger in Watchmen, for example.

2. Snyder unable to make the movie epic enough. The NY destruction scenes in Watchmen weren't very visceral.

Right now I have no worries since we haven't seen any hint of a costume, plot. The worries should start building up once we get a look at the costume and that's only if there's a carbon copy of Superman Returns.

Everything from Goyer scripting to Nolan producing to Snyder directing to Cavill playing the Man of Steel to Snyder giving little (if any) hints about the plot and villains, which makes me question if the script's finished and if there is one.

So I've been worried about this from the start.

Also, IMO, a lot of the time "Batman" creative teams dont really have a great handle on Superman. A great example of this is when the BTAS team took on STAS. That series was good...but it definetely wasn't the pinnacle of what Superman could be, mainly because they restrained the character in several ways.

I wonder if that'll happen here with Nolan/Goyer overseeing this movie.

I wasn't thrilled with the hiring of Snyder at the beginning. However, hearing him talk about the character and the casting so far...I'm not too worried bout anything.

I think this movie is well on it's way to becoming a big hit, enjoyable for the general public and a film that all superman fans can actually be proud of.

I hope so....visually, it'll be stunning, im sure.

I hope it has a similar feel to jj abrham's star trek flick

Timm and his team went on to make JL/JLU though which definitely improved on the Superman character. :)

Not to take away from that, as they did do an excellent job, but their improving the character mostly dealt with the fact that they handled him badly during JL Season 1...I'm sure adding Dwayne McDuffie (RIP), who didnt work on STAS and who also had a great understand of many DC characters also helped in improving Supes in the Timmverse

to be fair though, bruce timm did help write 'twilight", which had Superman whoop darkseid.

till todate, nothing to worry about. everything seems heading to the right direction and superman is gonna soar really high this time!!! hurray!!!

I feel like all that I've heard so far has been good.

All I'd be worried about is this concentration on this Africa storyline I've been hearing. It's good to do something different, sure. But they should keep a good portion of the movie in Metropolis for some much needed Superman action.

Also I really hope Lois gets a decent part in it and isn't put in the background in favour of other people like she was for so many years on Smallville.

The only thing that has me a little worried is the Lois Lane not having big role rumor. Is her part small but important, small and unimportant or not really small, but smaller than the previous film. Lois is an important part of Superman lore and I'm hoping she's not overlooked.

My only two (major) worries left are:

1- They'll **** up the costume, remove the undies etc.

2- They'll go the ridiculous 'Metropolis Clark is the real guy' route.

Apart from that (I've accepted Cavill, hope I'm proven wrong about him) everything Snyder's been saying the last week is getting me excited.

So far, Goyer has been my only worry.

I wouldn't want the africa segment to take up too much time. If it has about the same amount of screen time as the asian country in batman begins, it'll probly be fine.

Of course, that's assuming they're gonna do the africa part.

My worry is that it might be so "super" awesome like that it'll blow everyones minds.

:)

I wake up in the middle of the night with night sweats because i worry about the same thing

1. Snyder really hasn't made a truly great movie yet.
2. That it will be a soulless bashfest.

Same here :word:

I have absolutely zero worries right now, I'm always a wait and see kind of person anyway (well at least til we see a trailer). So far casting is 3 for 3 and I have faith in Snyder & Nolan.

Yeah, my feelings are mutual. Nothing has led me to believe this is going down the wrong direction.

My only concern honestly is the choice of villain/s.

I'm just deeply longing for Brainiac but even then I know Brainiac isn't necessary for a great Superman story (although having him for a sequel would then be a must). So its a tiny worry to say the least.
