We've seen a lot of reboots since superhero movies really took off. Some have worked really well, others haven't. I'm curious which ones people here view to be the absolute worst. I thought about including a poll, but there are so many options to choose from, especially if you also include TV shows.

Here are the reboots I feel were the worst of the worst:

- TMNT (the Michael Bay CGI versions). Awful, unfunny and BORING. Oh, and Megan Fox should never act in anything again.

- The Amazing Spider-Man. I actually liked Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone but everything else in these two films was somewhere between mediocre and crap.

- Punisher: War Zone. While all of the Punisher films are terrible for different reasons, this one lands in "Worst Movie of All Time" territory. I felt embarrassed for the actors while watching it, especially Dominic West. Thank God for Netflix and Jon Bernthal for finally giving us a good Frank Castle adaptation.

- Batfleck. I know some people really like him, but his performance is completely flat to me. Nothing about him feels like Batman when I watch him. I don't know exactly what it is that makes a great performance as Batman, but he doesn't have it. As another poster here said, he just seems like Ben Affleck in a Batman costume.

- Superman Returns. I know this film is a sort-of sequel to Superman II, but none of the characters (mainly Superman and Lois) don't feel anything like the original versions.

Punisher War Zone was pure schlocky fun in all the best ways for me. And I've come to appreciate Superman Returns over the years.

I'd probably say Fanfourstic. They took all the things that make the F4 so great, tossed them in the trash and lit em on fire

F4 clear winner of that contest

I enjoyed Bay's Ninja Turtles, despite their hideous appearance and the miss-casting of April.

The Amazing Spiderman was good.

Punisher: War Zone was decent.

Batfleck was the best thing about BvS.

And I haven't seen Superman Returns.

My vote goes to F4.

Punisher: War zone for me.

Just going by quality, then it was clearly Fant4stic. That was an abomination in every way.

But I want to throw out a special mention for The Amazing Spider-Man. At least things like Fant4stic and TMNT they were in a position where a reboot was basically required to relaunch the brand. They failed miserably, but at least there was some thinking involved there. TASM was in many ways even worse because rebooting was so unnecessary. There was no reason they couldn't just continue with a soft-reboot of the Raimi films with a new actor and director. The Raimi series was still popular and still fresh in the minds of the audience. Going back and doing the origin again just a decade after they already nailed that story was the one of the laziest, most uninspired film decisions that I've ever seen. It never had a chance to work, even if it was executed well (which it wasn't).

Fan4stic. No contest. One of the worst CBMs ever. Made very crappy movies made before it look great, and given how bad THOSE were, that is an accomplishment.

F4, TASM, and Batfleck.

Fant4stic by a country mile.

I vote F4

BvS a worse movie in the sense of atrocious waste of iconic characters, but Batfleck wasn't as horrible as it could have been.

That said if the question was just characters instead of superheroes, then Lex from BvS wins hands down.

War Zone is amazing, its so OTT and ludicrous. Getting back on topic, I have to say Fant4stic easily.

I can’t believe I forgot about Fant4stic. That movie was atrocious. It probably does take the cake, though I would argue that, purely from a filmmaking standpoint, Punisher War Zone was a worse movie.

Anyone have any other nominees? I feel like there are a few I’m forgetting.

No exactly a superhero, and not exactly a reboot as it was supposed to be a different character, but I gotta mention Halle Berry's Catwoman which was God-awful.

F4 without any doubt, shouldn’t even need to explain.

Ah! Yes I should have included that one, sorry. That film was an abomination and I think it kind of counts since it was an attempt to relaunch the Catwoman brand and it had only a thin connection to the previous version.

And THAT is one of the reasons why I dislike Batman Returns... because they decided to give Catwoman superpowers, it ultimately led to WB making other bad decisions connected to that, like Halle Berry’s Catwoman and that Turds of Prey show.

Practically any reboot that wasn't Nolan Batman, MCU Spidey, or MCU Hulk.

F4 was horrible, but I really disliked both Amazing Spider-man films. First and foremost, yes,I'm a Raimi fan and wasn't really interested in(or wanted)a reboot at all. So,I wasn't all that enthused to begin with. I would've preferred a Spider-man 4. But the first Amazing film,in my opinion is the worst Spider-man movie. It was too dark and gritty(not what a Spidey film should be),I didn't like Garfield as Peter Parker, the suit was horrible, the Lizard was bad and a lot of scenes were just badly rehashed versions of what already Raimi did and I never really cared at all about the "secret history" of Peter's parents. Maybe if they had skipped the origin story altogether and just had him already as Spidey it might've been better. Amazing 2 was a little bit more fun and more of what a Spider-man movie should be but it was still overstuffed and seemed like it was just created to set up a Sinister six movie. The best thing about the 2 movies were Garfield and Emma Stone's chemistry, but that couldn't save it for me.

Oh man, yeah the ASM suit was soooooooo bad. That weird ultra-thin chest plate that looked like necktie, the basketball mask, and those ugly yellow eyes. The eyes in particular made it look like Spidey was a chain smoker who was somehow always lighting up inside his mask, thus turn his lenses a crusty yellow color over time.

The ASM2 suit on the other hand was majestic. But the movie... wasn't.
