Would anyone be averse to a supergirl film?

I really enjoyed the 80's supergirl movie. I think a remake should be on the agenda, it can be made like twilight or something :yay:

I don't think Twilight would be right comparison, and I didn't really like Supergirl the movie that much.

I wouldn't be against it, but I think Superman has to get back on track first.

I think it would be best to introduce her in a Superman movie first. Then they can spin-off her character into her own movie.

I would have no problem with a GOOD Supergirl film...of course, the chance of that happening anytime soon is nil.

It isn't going to happen anyway. The 86 film was an epic fail and Nolan (who's controlling Superman) definitely won't allow Supergirl, considering how against Robin he was with Batman.

I don't mind if she cameos in the future films, but she doesn't deserve her own films.. especially similar to Twillight.

Is this thread a joke by the way? If so, it's well worth it just for that animated gif.

If this thread wasn't a joke it was worth it for the animated gif anyway.

Its been posted that many times? Today was the first time I've seen it.

i wouldnt be against it myself. though it would need to have the right story, cast, director on board. But i still doubt we will see anyone of the supes family on screen to after we got a new superman film and superman in the place wb wants it to be.

It’s unfortunate that NO studio in Hollywood can produce a successful female comic book movie. Does Superman really need another reboot? He’s already universally known to the general public. Therefore I would welcome another Supergirl after the unsuccessful 1984 movie.

WB recently launched its new "Supergirl Merchandise". The suits are trying to compete with Disney’s princess market for a piece of the pie. I think Supergirl can get more exposure to the "girls market" with a live action movie. It's sad that WB can’t find a way to make money from female superhero movies. Now they're mainly focusing on the merchandise. :csad:

You can read more about it here.

I think a tv show after Smallville goes off the air would work better.

I enjoyed the thought of Taylor Swift as Supergirl. These were rumors of a SG movie starring her, then those rumors changed into SG being in the next Superman film. I know that's all BS, but I like to humor the thought of Taylor Swift playing a convincing Supergirl nonetheless.

I think the only way Supergirl could work is if she's in a Superman film. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to a film granted it's made with good intentions.

yea it would be best to have her first appear in superman film then the option of a spin from supes. But first we need superman back in place.

I would be all for a supergirl movie... i agree with everyone else though that she should be introduced in a superman movie first. There's no lack of potential for it.

there is a plethora of of strong female leads that DC could make, but wont. Wonderwoman, Supergirl, Batgirl (cassandra), Power girl, Birds of Prey, Hawk/Dove, hawk girl, Zatanna, Star and S.T.R.I.P.E.... just to name a few

This is how I feel. I'm never opposed to any comic book movie as long as it's done well.

Supergirl does not need the emo-drama of Twilight.

What would Supergirl do in her own film? How strong is her mythos? Does she have her own rogues gallery and supporting cast or does she just borrow villains and supporting characters from her cousin?

the villians don't so much matter... there is a plethora of B/C list villians form both superman AND supergirl comics that will never see screen time in a superman film. If it is written and executed well, i say lets do it!

yea there is plently of villains and stuff they can do from the comics. she been around for what 50 or so yrs right there is soemthing they can adapt from.
