OPk, but a hoodie costume that doesn't look like he bought it from the children's section of Macy's. :o

I'd say it was a pretty good deal. He snagged it from that museum gift shop. And he got a lot of wear out of it too.

Yeah, that costume wasn't very practical, but it did look a helluva lot better than the new Spidey one he made.

I would probably give a Ben Reilly book a shot.
A bit more interested in a Kaine book though.

The hoodie was the best bit.

Yes....yes it was. I was also a fan of the webshooters on the outside.

I liked the stingers too (NOT thoooose :down )

I say only if he has a different costume.

However, i think i might read it anyway

If he was the Scarlet Spider and not in New York, yes.
i think there are enough differrences that have recently occured in peter's life to deem ben a separate enough entity to warrant still being in new york...

i kinda see them like parker being ryu and ben being ken, but now ken's so much different to the ryu character (as before they weren't) that he now warrants his place officially on the streetfighter rostrum.

wow, that spidey costume is like, the greatest marvel costume design ever....

ben was much more dabby with style, especially on a budget.

right, i would keep him, as long as he's brought back in a decent manner, throw kaine back in because he's one of the hidden gems of the clone saga.

throw black tarantula in as a main adversary coming back

give kaine the venom symbiote since the symbiote will finally have what it wants 'parker' to some extent (or a comfortable medium) and let the good times roll.

heck i don't even mind if they bring him back as spidey,
parker may go through a mental breakdown when mj dies

also keep ben as poor and downbeat to completely separate him from parker. parker should have it all, wife money status but that's what also his downfall as it all comes tumbling.

also ben's knowledge should excel, show a greater natural intelligence to peter's taught knowledge, learning from the school of hard knocks and also from trainer.

also bring back his entourage from the daily grind, great setting. keep janine in jail for a while though.

a ben reilly book has potential to be truelly awesome.

Besides, if the Marvel universe can afford to have 27 different Spider-Women running around, 50 symbiotes, and a female Tarantula taking the place of a perfectly good original Tarantula... than why not another Spidey?

Ya know, one that WON'T unmask because daddy says so?

Nah. I liked the character okay but I always resented him because they tried to have him supplant the real Spider-Man and Perter Parker as Spidey and then said the Spidey of the last 20 years was a clone and fraud.

That annoyed me so I never warmed up to the character until literally Peter Parker Spider-Man #75. In the issue where he died and Peter came back as Spidey I finally, "Hey, this guy is kind of a cool cat." But then it was too late. Looking back he was a cool character and both his costumes were badass, but he is a marker in what was the lowest point in Spidey comics history with a ratio of like 10 bad comics to every 1 good one. However, I think this unmasking may very well beat the clone saga as the worst part of Spidey comics history.

But overall though he is dead and given the story he defined, I say let him rest in peace. UNLESS we find out what he was doing before he came into Pete's life. Maybe issues that go parallel to where he was before the clone saga as the Scarlet Spider touring the country and almost being a myth of a second Spider-Man running around the weswt or something. THAT'D I'D LIKE.

But him brought back to his own series? Look there enough ****ing problems in current stories as there is and if anyone from the clone saga should come back it should Baby May dammit! C'mon now.

Remember when characters used to be original? No clones of anyone (except for the occasional storyline, which was meant to show that the original couldn't be duplicated..). No characters being endlessly replicated because such a thing was actually frowned on for not be creative? I'd like to see that.

Exactly. Besides, I'd rather read a Ben book than has a different slant than ANOTHER Spider-Man book.

Well...whether you liked the (2nd) Clone Saga or not you have to admit that it was an original idea through and through. The "duplicate" almost never comes back from the initial "hero fights hero" cliche story. And then for them to develop a case of mistaken identity and still manage to be "brothers". It was a good idea...until the Marketing Department killed it and prolonged the story.

Still, Ben Reilly (and Kaine) are two of the most interesting characters in the Spidey-verse (imo) and I would love to see them back in a capacity that doesn't focus so much on the fact that they are "clones" (ex: Kaine in Spider-Girl is treated like a REAL character rather than simply a messed up clone). We don't need Clone Saga 3. Just the cool characters.

Kind of difficult to really pull that off when the character has been having monthly comic books coming out for 44 years.

I think this title would solve some , but not ALL of the problems spidey fans are raving about...

think about it... NO organic web-shooters..

Stingers or any of this other spider-totem nonsense...

The Free wheeling Days of Spidey could return

Maybe use Kaine as i villian here n there..

i would like to see the out-fit he left the series in used

sadly.. cuz i dont see him able to return as Scarlett-Spider

So Yes i think a Ben Reilly title would be the 2nd best s-man title!

Ultimate being the best!:spidey:

Does anybody know of any writers at marvel that were fans of Ben Reilly?
They should pitch a mini set in the days of the Scarlet Spider, introducing a new character, which then shows up in the main Spider-Man title (as a new foe/friend of Peter).
If MJ does die, then a return to the Daily Grind as the focal point of Peter Parker's social life would be a good move. Maybe include old Ben Reilly supporting cast.
This would allow for a new reflective Spider-Man, looking back at the deaths of his loved ones. Ben Reilly, Baby May, (maybe) Mary Jane. A nod to continuity that isn't the same old Uncle Ben, Gwen Stacy stuff.
That'd be my pitch anyway.

is there a What If? issue along the lines of this:
What If Ben Reilly Was The Original?

Yes

It's called Spectacular Spider-Man #226 - PP:SM #75.

:woot: :woot: :woot:

There is a What If Scarlet Spider Killed Spider-Man that follows something along those lines. What If v2 #86.

hahaha

well that's easy...

The real Ben DIDN'T disintegrate cause he's "fully-baked" :D

That was a decoy Ben.

*Slips into flame-******ant suit*

I would LOVE to read a What If but that probably wouldn't come out until Ben actually returns to regular continuity.
