Would you prefer just optimism and resolution for the ending, or would elements of a cliffhanger work?

For example:

Superman and Batman (throw in some WW too) battle Metallo and Lex has a prominent role in BvS. Then towards the end, we hear loud thumps and almost earthquake type imagery (think of Jurassic Park where the vibrations show the water movement) as well as maybe lights flickering out. Doomsday wouldn't even have to be seen yet.

I mean, would you like seeing the next villain/threat of the world used as part of the ending?

Nope.

The event's of BvS should be resolved in the film.

Yeah, have threads or seeds in the film Thta get picked up else where in the DCCU, but don't end on a cliff hanger. No post credit scenes as well would be my druthers.

Only if they do a scary, horror-ish ending.

Batman: "Where's Luthor?"

Superman: "...it's terrible, Batman...terrible"

Batman: "What's terrible? Superman?"

And we cut to:

Lex Luthor sitting in front of a table with forty cakes, laughing like a maniac.

No. No cliffhanger.

Ah come on, it was just for a children's educational book. The 40 cakes theft was perfectly suitable for the intended audience :o

They should adapt all of those entries. Next up:

No. But I do hope it has Batfleck interrogating someone who's hanging off a cliff.

Cliffhangers are fine for television shows.

I hate them in movies.

No cliffhangers, but post credit peek into the next story, maybe.

Nolan has **** all to do with BvS, if Snyder wants a post credit sequence then he is going to get one.

I'm just saying that was the reported reason if I remember right, that MOS could NOT have an after credit scene. Don't know if that would change with distance of Nolan.

Why wouldn't things change if Nolan isn't really involved? It's Snyder and the studio's decision then and maybe Snyder wants to do the post credit thing, who knows?

I know what you mean, but as they didn't start the tradition with MOS I would wonder if doing it now with BvS is possible. It kind of seems like they should have done it with MOS first.

All I can say is I get what you are saying but to me I don't see such a change (if Snyder wants it) as that big of a deal. It's a small change to the plan in the grand scheme of things.

Lol Like I'm not trying to advocate for post credit sequences, either way I am fine. If there fine, if not, fine.

Agreed I am good with it either way. Although I've noticed some DC diehards who really hate the idea of it which appears to be based on the fact that Marvel has done it for so long. Marvel does it= don't do it  If it works and is fun, I see no reason to dismiss it just to separate from Marvel. Eh

Movie franchises are becoming increasingly more episodic in nature. If the cliffhanger ties into the movie that follows, rather than a sequel that's years and years down the line, then I definitely won't mind. We're getting enough of these films yearly that the wait wouldn't be too bad and it allows the film's central story to still be self contained.

I understand that instant negative reaction when you think someone is hinting that they want everything DC does to be exactly like Marvel "just cause." But I think people (myself included) should try and get past that sometimes.

Like Marvel, DC is setting up a cinematic universe so that's already copying right there, having a post credit stinger isn't a big deal.
