Everything is all in the dual nature of people and society at large. Everything is divided. I thought it might be a cool thread. Unsure how to exactly get these started. So maybe - every day I can bring up a new question or topic.

To start:

Would you or would you not run into a apartment fire to save someone's life?

Ex: Spider-Man 2, when Peter lost his abilities.

I would :spidey: Been in situations where I've had to save people before and I'd willingly do something similar or more dangerous again.

One "what if" question/scenario per day. Will be bolded.

I would only if they were someone close to me.

I would as long as it wasn't a lost cause. Raging inferno, no. But sleeping baby in a house where I see smoke coming from a window, yes.

My dad once raced into our neighbor's house when it was burning down. My mom went crazy with panic. Fortunately my neighbor was out, but my dad came out coughing carrying the family cat.

It really depends on the circumstances: Are the firefighters already present? How big is the fire? Would I actually be able to get to these people without dying on the way? What kind of building is on fire? Am I in a good enough physical condition to be of any help? Would I be able to process any of this in the short time I would have to make a decision?

I mean, on principle I'd say yes, but I can think of many versions of that scenario where doing that would just make it worse.

Yes, If I had a good idea of where the people in the building were.

Yes, I would definitely try to save someone.

If I was a super hero like Spider-Man, then yes! If I'm a normal person, it depends on the situation.

I don't know if that is such a good example for this type of question. there is a poster called ultimatewebhead, who is a firefighter, and he says that situation in Spider-man 2 is a lot of baloney, that he would have been dead pretty much as soon as he spent any time in the building, and explained why.
and that's the point, life is not like the movies.

Now, the only way I would enter a burning building to save someone, would be if i knew I had a good chance of saving both that person, and coming out alive myself, and I really do not know how you would evaluate that situation in real life, you don't have x-ray vision, you don't know how bad the fire is, or are educated , like the firefighter, on what level of fire is survivable, and for what length of time.

So, I would have to say, most of the people who have watched such a scene in a movie, and say they would do the same thing in rela life, I'd have to say they probably wouldn't. Their natural instincts for personal survival would kick in, and they'd stand there on the sidelines and hope the firebrigade showed up in time.

But, I dunno, there is more to the world then what we see with our own two eyes, someone might have a genuine religious experience, and get a sign from god that , yes, they should go into the burning building, they will be alright, and they will save the person.
Or, they might get a sign telling them to wait for the fire-brigade, and not be so rash as to run into the building.

So, personally, if i got a sign from god telling me that it would be alright to do so, i'd do it, if not, no, i wouldn't, because life is not like the movies, I wouldn't know what the hell I was doing, and i'd most likely die.

In risk of sounding like a monster, hell no! I'm not a trained fire fighter. If I ran into a burning building, I might just get myself killed. How would that help anyone?

If I heard someone screaming inside especially children and I did not at least try to save them, my life from that day on would be horrid. I don't know how anyone could just stand there doing nothing but looking, when he/she is the only one there to help. How could I ever forgive myself if I didn't at least try?

Well, you know what to do, never leave the house without a couple of waterballoons, just in case this once in a billion million billion million incident occurs.

Only if they were someone I was very close to, and then if it wasn't a hopeless situation.

Would you or wouldn't you become a superhero if you attained special abilities?

I probably wouldn't. If I saw someone in trouble, then yeah I'd save them. But that wouldn't be my focus. I'd goof off and maybe use it to get ahead too.

Note, lol: Powers that MARVEL and DC heroes have to fight crime.

I would never stalk a poster on the forums.

Depends on mood. Probably a Super Villian. I'm too lonely and sad to be good for most part if I had powers. Maybe to stop NWO. If Superman were real and I has super powers we would fight. Then we would diss Batman. Silly Batman and Green Lantern. You not SuperHeroes. You no have magical powers. ^_^ silly Billy.

Also I would diss the RIAA, MPAA, and endorse Gary Johnson. Oh wait, I'm a SuperVillian? Might as well endorse Romney then.

Seems like even mods leap before they type sometimes lol. No biggie. Just pay more attention to the first post next time Bamf. :woot:

And Wooden Alligator, I've found that stalkers are just like pesky kids. Annoying. Frightening in the mental section lol. But, if you ignore them? They're bound to stop messing around and act more their age at some point. Or at least that's my trick, give it a try and it might ward off this insane stalker. :cwink:
