Wouldn't the lizard fit the theme better?

Since the theme of the movie is the 'darkness within' wouldn't the lizard have fit that theme a lot better? Seeing how Conners would be going through the same struggle as Peter controlling the darkness within himself.
Would be cool seeing black spidey fight the lizard...

Conners would be really concerned if Peter doesn't turn in his homework.

They sorta did the Lizards story in SM2.:(

They wanted to avoid the whole scientist bit I think, and more people wanted to see Venom. Although it would've avoided the whole Sandman killing Uncle Ben bit.

Maybe Spidey 4?

The lizard for a sequel? I don't know.

It'll be really hard to surpass Spider-Man 3 with everything that's gone into it.

I say they do the Clone Saga for Spider-Man 4 (not a faithful adaption, something completely original) and they could throw in villains like Kraven or the Lizard into it. From a marketing standpoint this is the best place they could probably go. It's something where people would see the trailers and go 'I have to see that' like they are now with the black suit. Whereas if it was just the lizard for Spider-Man 4 people would see it as retreading, a step back from 3, and more of the same.

The Lizard would have been cool. Dylan Baker is a pretty good actor too IMHO.

^The Lizard is not in SM3 but I am sure we will get some fan nods and maybe even a slight hanger.

Doc Ock took the mentor part and it looks like Sandman is taking the family part. The things that made the Lizard have already been done with other characters.

It would have been cool to see the Lizard in SM3. After all in the Animated Series, Eddie Brock took pictures of Dr.Connors changing into The Lizard. Peter found out and confronted Brock I believe as Spider-Man and told him that he wasn't gonna ruin Connors image. Then JJJ found out that Dr.Connors was his human self and fired Brock for saying that he turned into this creature. I think that is what happened.

I guess i see what you mean but i guess it would go along better if they just had harry, venom and sandman as a villain. i mean we sorta have this theme of aunt may saying revenge can do a lot of things to ppl which sorta coincides with harry wanting revenge and having darkness in himself. and then therez Spidey havin sum troubles, wanting revenge on sandman and having the symbiote with him and makin him all badass. i think it just seems better.

So then couldn't Connors become the father-figure part (I know Norman was sort of that for Peter) Pete needs to turn to after the deaths of Harry, Gwen, and possibly Aunt May? I mean he's going to need someone there for him other than MJ. He lost his friendship with Harry because of his wacky daddy, Gwen it almost cost him his Mary Jane and his possible marriage to her, and Aunt May I'm sure is going to hit the bucket sooner or later, so it'd be smart to have Connors become the father-figure he needs at this tragic time in his life.

That way it'd make it harder for Spidey to go after him because now he is going after the only guy who really became not just a friend and mentor, but almost an adopted dad.

^You would have to build up that relationship for Connors to become a father figure...hopefully they will do that in SM3. I hope Peter and Connors scientifically work together to find out about the symbiote. Connors discoveres it's regenerative qualities and voilia!

Gwen is not going to die. I'd be surprised if she isn't barely in the movie.

the lizard would have fit great. I thought that for part 3, after spidey gets the symbiote he asks conners to study a sample of it, and then he's going to come back the next day, but in theimddle of the night while spider-man is asleep the symiboite take spete for a midnight stroll, where he rigs the lizard syrum so Conners who would have just grown back his arm, instead turns into the lizard.

it's not a science experiment accident like the last two movies, it's sabotage by a dark spidey.

then it's a race. spider-man needs to cure conners, so conners can tell him how to get rid of the symbiote, before it's too late for the both of them.

and once again pete only hurts the people around him because of spider-man.

If Tobey didn't push for the Sandman, the Lizard would be in this movie.

I really should turn my sig into [blackout]'the teaser scene at the end of the film leaves the door wide open for The Lizard to be in SM4'[/blackout]. To me an SM4 (if it ever happens) with The Lizard, Kraven and Carnage feels much better than an SM3 with The Lizard, Night Surfer and Venom. The former denotes an animalistic and rougher tone in film, whereas the latter feels less coherent.

^Since Venom is the size of spidey in this movie,Carnage wouldn't be that impressive, just a red Venom.

I wouldn't mind that at all. A red hue, a wilder look to the merger (perhaps more tendrils), and good weapon design would work wonders for me. I'm really feeling the thinner Venom, and find if Carnage has to be in the film (not a fan of psychotics to begin with) then such a consistency would be to my liking.

Lizard no way this movie is called Spider-Man not Jurassic Park!
Just imagine Spidey fighting something like this:

haha what?! they didn't do any of the lizard's story in sm2
yeah they had doc ock go bad becasue of science, but it really wasn't the same...it wasn't a physical transformation to a creature with no human qualities or reasoning...it was jsut the arms' AI taking over and once otto realised this he fought it and won..dr. connors can't win just by wanting it, he'll need help
i think if the lizard happens, it would be a great struggle with trying to be good, but the lizard making connors do bad things and spider-man trying to fight him without hurting him and protecting him from the public/authorities while still trying to save dr. connors
it'd be a great storyline...i'd love to be involved in writing it..haha, but watching it would be cool too
