The Incredible Hulk, getting ready to wrap up soon is about to shoot the scenes that will be around the shanty town of Tavares Thick, in the Catete of Rio de Janeiro. The community is known by the security - the novel Opposite Lives was recorded there.

The filming of THE Incredible Hulk in Rio will begin in the first week of November and involve external shooting in the shanty town and interior scenes in a shed. Edward Norton, who plays Banner/Hulk, will be in both the shoots. The scenes integrate to first part of the film, but can contain light spoilers, so dont continue if you do not want to you know anything...

Brazil is one of the locations where Dr. Banner researches cures for his condition, quizzing medicines with local herbs. When a product in the U.S.A., arising from of Brazil, has identified range gamma radiation contents in his composition, the army commanded by the General Ross disembarks a unit to pursuethe Hulk.

The scenes in Tavares Thick involve, therefore, the pursuit of Dr. Banner. They are called "Hulk-Hunts", led by official Emil Blonsky, played by Tim Roth, are involved in the sequences, that pass thru shacks and alleys in Elite Troop style. Later on in the film, back to the U.S.A., Blonsky will become the Abomination.
Edward Norton will be transformed into the Hulk in full for the first time in Rio de Janeiro after being chased by the army and brazilian workers in human form.

The opening sequence shows a transformation but only his arms.

The scenes shot in Brazil sounded very intense and exciting. 1st time Banner transforms fully into the Hulk and causes some major damage:woot:

You say we only see Hulk's arms but don't we see a part of Hulk's face? Half in shadow and half not? Or have they taken that part out?

*****SPOILERS*****

Sarg - EB is referring to the opening suicide scene when Banner shoots himself and falls to the ground. When he falls you see Hulk's arms instead.

The half face thing you're referring to happens in the warehouse scene with the thugs and the army. It's a little later on.

Oh I see. I was reading the stuff about filming in Rio and the Hulk Hunts I didn't think of the arctic scene. Makes sense now. My bad.

Hehe, too bad I don´t live in Rio, or I´d definitely try to get some scoops!

move there ...for us :(

heh, I live in a city that´s about as beautiful as Rio and the risk of being victim of mugging or kidnapping or being killed by a stray bullet is about a thousand times smaller, so no thanks...:woot:

You know that in major areas of Brazil, top executives travel almost exclusively by helicopter and my girlfreind when she went to Rio for work had to have a bodyguard accompany here everywhere plus she travelled in an armorred car which was apparently typical.
