Darkness.

- A voice-over start – Batman is speaking
BATMAN: I believe in Gotham City.
- A flash of Batman moving around a table
BATMAN: I believe in Harvey Dent.
- A flash of a man’s hands, handcuffed together, tapping the table
BATMAN: Now I’ll only ask once more…
- We see Batman looking down at the man sitting at the table. He has green hair.
BATMAN: Who are you?
- He shakes his head. Batman punches him, and he falls to the floor. He rolls over to reveal: THE JOKER.
THE JOKER: Now things are starting to get funny.

Darkness – laughter can be heard

- Gotham City shown in all its glory
- A banner is drawn across a skyscraper. It reads: “I BELIEVE IN HARVEY DENT”

- A party. Harvey enters, arm in arm with Rachel Dawes. Bruce Wayne approaches them.
BRUCE: Finally, I get to meet the mysterious Harvey Dent.
HARVEY: Rachel’s told me a lot about you, Mr. Wayne.
- Bruce glances at Rachel. She looks away.
BRUCE: I sincerely hope not.

- Bruce and Rachel, away from the rest of the party. She looks angry.
RACHEL: We can’t be together, because you won’t allow it.
BRUCE: No, we can’t be together because you don’t want to date Batman.
RACHEL: Bruce. I’m in love with Harvey. I’m sorry.
- Rachel walks away.

- Pan in on a bank
- The front of the bank EXPLODES
- Flash to a news desk
REPORTER: The series of bombings all over the city continue to baffle the police. The latest of these attacks saw the appearance of several armed men witnesses describe as…
- A group of men wearing metallic clown masks run from the bank explosion
REPORTER: Jokers

- Shot of WAYNE ENTERPRISES, we crane down towards the basement and we are in: THE BAT GARAGE
- Bruce and Alfred sit watching the news.
BRUCE: I’m gonna go to work.

- Quick shots of the Batpod racing through the streets. In a parking lot, SCARECROW leads a group of men dressed as BATMAN.
- Out of nowhere, Batman appears and starts to fight them.
BATMAN: Where’s the Joker?
- Batman holds Scarecrow over the edge of the parking lot, there is a 50 foot drop.

Darkness.

- A school bus screeches around a corner. The driver is the Joker.
- Joker and his goons fight Batman. Batman beats the goons, but Joker knocks him down.

Pan in on, SALVATORE MARONI watching the news. He turns to his right. Batman stands in the shadows.
BATMAN: Do you know who he is?
MARONI: Yes. We hired him to kill you.

A make-up-less Joker pulls down a metallic clown mask over his head, and starts shooting at people.
MARONI: But we couldn’t control him.

Maroni stands over the make-up-less Joker with a knife.
MARONI: We made him what he is now.

The Joker looks at himself in the mirror. He has two enormous gashes along his face.
MARONI: A monster.

Batman sits at the Batcomputer, Alfred stands behind him.
BATMAN: I knew the mob wouldn’t go down without a fight.

Maroni clutches a machine gun, firing at something we can’t see.
BATMAN: But this is different.

The Joker dances with Rachel, holding a knife to her throat.
BATMAN: They’ve crossed a line.

Batman attacks a group of mobsters.
ALFRED: You crossed the line first, sir.

The Joker aims a gun at Maroni’s forehead.
ALFRED: Some men aren’t looking for anything logical.

The Batmobile races through fire.
ALFRED: Some men just want to watch the world burn.

- Thunder crack.
- The Joker stands, his hands behind his back, in the corner of an office. The occupant has just entered. He smiles.
JOKER: Good evening, Mr. Dent.

Gordon stands beside the Bat-signal. Batman is there too..
GORDON: He’s got Dent.

- The Joker stares into a handheld camera.
JOKER: Starting tonight…
- Rachel is trapped inside a water tank. The water level is rising.
JOKER: People will die…
- Gordon leads a SWAT team through a fun fair.
JOKER: I certainly hope you don’t think…
- Harvey Dent is strapped into a chair, in a vest. He is covered in blood and sweat. He screams.
JOKER: That I’m joking…
- One of Scarecrow’s Batman-dressed goons hangs from a noose over the “I BELIEVE IN HARVEY DENT” banner.
JOKER: After all…
- Back to the Joker in front of the camera.
JOKER: I’m a man of my word!
- He laughs.

Very quick flashes.
- The Batpod explodes.
- Someone knocks Lucius Fox to the floor.
- Alfred aims a shotgun at someone off-screen.
- The Joker pulls out one of his knives, and twirls it in his hands.
- Joker smiles up at Batman from the floor of the interrogation room.
- The “I BELIEVE IN HARVEY DENT” banner has been covered in Joker-esque graffiti.
- Batman and Joker fight on a Ferris wheel pod that has stopped at the top.
- A coin twirls through the air.

THE DARK KNIGHT

A man sits down at a bar.
MAN: Give me a double.
The bartender stares at him, in shock and fear.
BARTENDER: Harvey, I thought you were dead!
We can see only Harvey’s normal side, but can make out the outline of his scars.
HARVEY: Only half.

You see the montage of city, while bruce is talking about how the city is being ruined (with BEGINS music in the background)

Bruce finishes what he is saying, and see a shot of Batman looking over the city. All of a sudden the film looks to brake

It then shows the joker on surveillance camera, staring at it and then laughing.

it then goes in a montage of action shots

This is my first time ever writing a trailer or something, so i know it sucks

-Cuts to Harvey Dent talking to the large crowd at some celebration over is microphone

-The crowd claps and chanting Harvey's name
-Harvey then smiles

-Cuts to a Cop who finds another cop stripped from his uniform

-A bank's enterance explodes

-Cuts to Joker on the tv while Bruce and Alfred watch

-He starts to laugh
-Cuts to black and then we see the Bat symbol

-Cuts to a single shot of a spinning 50 cent coing
-It is then caught by someone we can't see

Gordon stands and turns on the Batsignal.

Batman arrives and startles Gordon.

BATMAN
What can I do?

The sounds of drums pounding fades in.

Several shots of crime lords and their respective gangs:
- Maroni
- Black Mask
- Scarecrow

BATMAN (VO)
The mob has become restless, tearing the city apart. But none of it...

Screen goes BLACK.

BATMAN (VO)
Compares to this...

We hear the Joker's piercing, menacing laughter.

Music and intensity picks up.

Shots of the Tumbler speeding down the Narrows.
Alfred and Bruce looking out the window of the penthouse.
Hundreds of GPD officers moving throughout a burning city with fleeing citizens
Dent at a press conference:

DENT
I believe in Gotham City!

Batman descends from a rooftop.

ALFRED (VO)
Who are you? Batman or Bruce Wayne?

Batman fights several mob members with Scarecrow looking on.

Alfred and Bruce arguing in the penthouse:

BRUCE
People need someone, Alfred. People need a Batman!

RACHEL (VO)
NOO!!

Music and intensity dies down...

Rachel is tied and gagged in a warehouse, all alone...tears swelling her eyes.

JOKER (OS)
Why aren't you smiling! HAHAHAHAHAHA

Music and intensity picks back up.

Two large boats leave Gotham as it burns.
Gordon looks back at the wreckage:

GORDON
My God...

Batman punches Joker in the face, causing the audience to only get a glimpse of the madman.

My idea for a short TV spot

cam on a track slowly moving in to Heath on a throne or a chair like in the 1st appearence of Joker from the comic.
Random chatter in the background

Gordon:he's got no fingerprints.....

News reporter voice: Police are reporting huge casualties........

Gordon:he's got no id ........

Reporter: Whitnesses say the suspect had a white face and a red grin........

Gordon: I am telling you, he's bringing this city to its knees !

Reporter: Some wonder if Batman can save us at all.........

Camera is close to heath now

Gordon: Who is this guy !?

*Heath flashes a grin at the camera*
*fast cut to black and fade in *

Gordon: Excuse me Mr.Wayne I would like to introduce you to someone. This is Harvey Dent the new D.A.

Bruce: Ah yes, Ms. Dawes told me so much about you. I hear your here to help us with our two sided city.

Harvey: Well, I do not know how much I can help but I assure you I will do my best to put shine some light on the narrows and put a smile to everyones faces once more.

*A huge bang is heard*

Everyone stops

The camera turns to the door.

Purple smoke starts to leak through the front door.

The door blast open.

The camera zooms close to the smoke.

The Jokers Face Appears with a wide eye grin.

Camera turns to view the guests including Bruces and Harveys.

Camera refocuses on The Joker.

Joker steps forward and takes a bow. Looks up while bowing and says, "Why so serious?" Starts laughing.

and a flash of scenes start to play while Joker is laughing.

Last scene saw is upward view of The Joker and turns to a view of Batman on the ground beaten down.

Camera turns back to The Joker with him with a gun in his hand and says,"Finally, I can die happy" *Bang*

Fades to back:

Then a bunch of paper like cut piece fall to form the Bat symbol. "The Dark Knight" title fades in.

The Symbol turns and its a Joker card on the back. Then the Cards explode .
