X-Men 3 is headed in the same direction as Mortal Kombat Annihilation.

Ugh, lets not even mention that star studded dulness! That movie was like watching a fly about to hit a windshield in slow motion.

This thread made seven months ago, I feel like I was right, even when I tried to have hope.

For those of you that aren't familiar with Mortal Kombat Annihilation, it was the sequel to the video game movie Mortal Kombat which was a surprise hit. MKA tried to have it all, and failed horribly.

It was crammed to the brim with characters, there was no room for character development. The plot took a giant nosedive with pathetic plot devices and killing off great characters for terrible reasons. Sounding familiar?

I groan with each cast addition report on more mutants (If that model is Stacy X, WTF?!), and how important characters are looking to go out in a whimper (Especially
Cyclops getting punked when he's essential to the whole storyline. Hell, even if he doesn't die he's apparently gotten the big shaft again. Where does he get sidetracked this time :down
). Mutant cure? Even if it's a cover for the legacy virus it's a lame plot device that rehashes "Bad man wants to get rid of mutants" from X2. They even have use a mutant to produce the "problem solving" agents they need AGAIN.

There you go Lightning. :)

I wouldn't insult Mortal Kombat Annihilation by comparing it with X3.

I also just saw that Psylocke thread which was deleted..

Honestly, do we really need more pitiful losses just to have a bodycount? Character with huge future movie potential just flushed down the drain? Exactly like Mortal Kombat Annihilation.

guys PALEEEAAASE..... youve got to be kidding me right? theres people living in denial about wanting this film to be better... but i think its just pathetic how you people hate on it so much before you even ****ing see it... its worse then living in denial, imo.

Well, I wouldn't insult X3 by comparing it to Mortal Kombat Annihilation

theres no comparison, it doesnt make sense to compare the 2, youd have to have such a small ammount of sense to think they would be anything alike.

Funny coincidence, I predicted the same thing a few months ago when Ratner kept adding charters upon characters to this film. I made the exact same analogy.
But if you look at a film like LOTR, they have just as many characters. The difference between MKA and LOTR, is that while in MKA, the charaters were literally going down a hall, room to room, fighting a different character. LOTR added some complexity, story arcs, and major development. The reason they were able to do this was simply because they had a longer film. I'm still optimistic, but the whole Church scene in the preview where Magneto watches Callisto and Quills show their powers seemed way to forced. It was sorta like "How are we going to introduce these guys?" "Let's just have Magneto ask them..."
