It wouldn't be the first time McKellan has had a short filming schedule for X-Men and yet always has a strong presence.

Is 3-4 months considered a short filming schedule for such an ensemble? He filmed his X2 scenes in 2 weeks, now THAT is short.

Yeah, 3-4 months is definitely not short at all. That's like half of the entire shoot.

there's so many stuff one actor can shoot in three months.

the question would be if such actor shoots many individual momments, or mostly group scenes with a few lines here and there.

Wonder if Hugh is gonna wear fake mutton chops. He's def filming soon, probably right away since it seems the old cast is filming now and his beard is definitely not long enough. McAvoy doesn't arrive until end of April, Hoult is in cali, Jen is in Boston, etc.

I never said it was a short shoot but he clearly won't be filming all the way until July, anyway. But it's quite likely, as with X2, Ian is filming nearly all his stuff on one shorter go, so it's interesting to see what it means in terms of screentime and with what characters he'll be sharing it with.

Schedules should be interesting. He's busy from July onwards which is when someone like Anna will be more free to shoot.

Halle, one would think would be filming as much as possible at the start, isn't there yet.

And Ellen... has disappeared.

Maybe the future scenes are more fragmented that I thought.

Though it does seem like a lot of future stuff is being filmed upfront as opposed to the 70's scenes.

I think the production agenda could have been done in a way to shoot most scenes from the future now, taking into account Ian, Patrick, Shawn and now Hugh are there, and with Halle probably arriving soon, with her pregnancy issue.

If Anna and Ellen arrive in some days or next week, this way they could do most of the stuff on the early months, with the 70's stuff being shoot right after.

of course they can always shoot stuff for the future later in the production, as always, but this is how things are looking right now.

The later they shoot, the larger Halle's baby.

I'd say she must be arriving soon and filming a good chunk. Or perhaps in that final month of shooting post-baby.

True. And they have a lot of actors with a lot of commitments to try and fit in.

Halle should shot on April/May and call it a day.

And if they need reshoots, on Jan/Feb of next year, as many cases.

Ellen has some press to do for The East and her video game and then she may be shooting this. She also has to start preparing to start preproduction on her own film so I'm seriously doubting she'll have a major part in the film.

I doubt any actor has a major part at all, being the biggest assemble sequel to date and with the two casts. In any case, young Charles and Erik could have a bigger role than most of the supporting cast. With Mystique and Wolverine as next on the list. But any actor could shoot a great role in a matter of three/four weeks.

6 months are too many months to shoot a pretty decent role for any of the actors, even if most of them had other proyects.

Any news on where James and Famke are these days? I know he's in the Anchorman sequel, but that has been shooting for some time, and he may be done with it or close. Either way, it wouldn't interfere too much with the X-men schedule.
