What's the story with X-Club? I couldn't find a thread and I hadn't heard about it before I saw a promo today in a comic.

I realize it's Beast's team from the whole "reversing M-Day" thing but any word on what the story is?

No idea. But the concept of the team, even without Beast, is just "mutant super-scientists." They're sort of like the X-Men's version of the Fantastic Four, if the Fantastic Four were composed entirely of Reed Richardses.

She didnt go away. She was just seen on Utopia, fighting alongside the X-men in Fear Itself

The only one that would even qualify on Reed's level is Dr. Nemesis and even he isnt as intelligent. Dr. Ro is a regular human with an expertise in genetics and Jeffries is a mechanic who can shape metallic junk into whatever he wants

The team is made up of Madison Jeffries aka Box, Dr. Nemesis, an old pre-Marvel character, Kavita Rao, from Whedon's initial Astonishing X-Men arc, and Danger, the former danger room AI come to life.

Yeah, I realized that eventually. I didn't particularly remember him (it's been some time since I've read an X-Men comic) but in light of the events of FF, I realized it couldn't be a Reed.

well he only recently became an X-men character. The bulk of his history is with Alpha Flight. Luckily for him, he wasnt slaughtered along with the rest of that team

I've read even less Alpha Flight comics.

I didn't mean in terms of intellect, just that they're all super-scientists instead of one scientist, one pilot, one hothead, etc. Box is the only one whose super-science cred is somewhat questionable, but he seems to have a knack for engineering, based on the little I've read with the X-Club.

Looks more like Apocalypse to me. I can vaguely make out the blue stripes on his head.

I'd be cool with that as well. I really liked them and was worried no one would pick them up again after Yost finished his story. I think the main Evolutionary would be an interesting character if further fleshed out.

I never read Alpha Flight but I like Madison Jeffries aka Box. His taken Forge place as the tech guy for the X-Men while Dr. Nemesis has taken the Beast scientist spot on Cyclops side.

Madison Jeffries is a technokinetic and had a secondary mutation making him also a technopathy. He can restructure, manipulate and control plastic, metal, glass, ect.

He can also communicate with machines like the drummer from planetary.

Not cool on him being another bot banger though. What is it with Marvel and their desire to have characters fancy robots?

Reading the first WatX and Uncanny I think the X-Men are heading in a good direction. I like Cyclops in the field with his Extinction team (not really feeling the name) of the heavy-hitter X-Men, and I love the idea of Dazzler and the street team bringing the kids along to build theyre experience. And Wolverine and Kitty running the new Jean Grey School brings the old school feel of the X-Men back.

One thing I am torn about though is "X-Men". Cyclops made my favorite chick, Psylocke, head of security (but why the chart labeled that 'Secret' I don't understand) along with Jubilee and Warpath. They're also featured in X-Men #20 and on the cover of the next issue (or the one after). Is this gonna be her book? Part of me really hopes it's not cuz I really don't like how Gischler's been handling that title.

And they're still gonna be mixing it up with a guest of the week? Even though I love Betsy I think I'm still gonna have to pass. Don't care for Warpath or Jubilee and I can still get my fix with X-Force and possibly Uncanny.
