X-Men - Part 3

Seeing as we all are raving about Wolverine and the X-Men and it's only at issue 2, I'd say that. Also Uncanny X-Force. It's pretty deep into Remender's run but it had easily been the best X-Men title prior to WATXM coming around to challenge it to the title.

Thanks!

It's a little difficult having been away from the series for a while and returning.

I think Wolverine & The X-Men, Uncanny X-Force and X-Factor are the best X-Men titles right now.

According to Alex Alonso, Jean is the X-character that they get the most mail about:

Alonso: Creating any character with the intention of having them anchor an ongoing title is probably the fastest way for them not to catch on, Sv7nd. That said, a strong female character needn't have roots in a male character, but any new character benefits from a high-profile launching pad. It's not a surprise that some of our strongest female characters are our X-Women, none of whom are rooted in a male character, but all of whom reflect the paradigm -- Jean Grey is, hands down, the character we get the most fan mail about, even though it's been years since we last saw her, Storm is one of the most popular X-Men period. And I'm betting Kitty Pryde, who made a huge comeback in Joss Whedon's "Astonishing X-Men" is going to have a great year in 2012.

I can't even remember the last Storm did anything intresting. Even that pointless gimmicky wedding to Black Panther was boring.

After marrying T'Challa, Storm joined the Fantastic Four for about a week, then proceeded to fall into the background of every comic she appears in.

well she's set to join the Avengers so maybe she'll have better luck over there

Hasn't worked for DD. Doubt it will work for Storm. She belongs with the X-Men, leading her own team by her own rules and NOT married.

Last time I read anything with forge was when he sent Maddrox and Layla to the future. I heard he died. How or why did he go evil all of a sudden?

Marvel sure like turning X-Men from the 90s crazy and then killing them

It was in Astonishing X-Men (post-Whedon) but that book has a weird affect on continuity. I don't think he or the story has been mentioned since....

Apparently getting his brains bashed in by Bishop twice during Messiah Complex drove Forge completely nuts, because he then spent the next several months in isolation, creating his own army of superhumans. Beast and Abigail blew him up.

In his defense, he had good intentions at least. He was trying to jumpstart the mutant race again by creating his own mutations.

Beast kills a lot of people for a bookish scientist these days. :csad:

Beast didnt kill Forge; Forge let himself die. They tried to get him to get out of there but he chose to stay, knowing he would face death by doing so

I blame his crazy ass girlfriend. She's a bad influence on him. But what can he do? It's not everyday you meet a rough-but-decent-looking chick with a fetish for blue fur.

It was a little freaky when I found out that members of the race of Brand's alien side apparently look like anthropomorphic cats. Funny but freaky.

when and where was that revealed?

I remember them covering it twice. When Abigail first revealed to Hank she had the hots for him in Whedon's run, she also mentioned that she's half alien and that her dad looks kinda like him (which says all kinds of psychological stuff I'm not going to get into). Then in the short lived SWORD series, they showed her alien half-brother who looked like a cat.
