I didn't mind him as a clone or not, I liked his actual character. He in one story was a better magneto than magneto has ever been.

they didnt explore him as a clone though. He was killed off almost immediately. I thought it was a lame way for him to go out and lazy way to explain him away. I thought it would have been more interesting had he lived and they played off the dynamics between he and Magneto. But its typical. Clones in marvel have like a 2% survival rate. X-23 is one of the few exceptions of one having staying power and even she isnt a true clone

Hey, I said I liked him so him dying sucked for me. I'm cool with them exploring him or not as a clone, he's just a much better character than magneto so given my druthers (and I should always be given my druthers) I'd rather have him than maggy any day of the week.

Now I wouldnt say he was a better character than Mags. Magneto had decades worth of development. Joseph's was rather limited. He had potential but it wasnt realized

Mags has had decades worth of development as a concentration camp victim that idolized the nazi ideals, I have and always will, find him to be more offensive a character than the vast majority of any character in comic book history. Joesph isn't like that. He was a killer but he hated the ideals of supremacy and only adopted the guise of magneto in order to get people away from those ideals.

I will. :( Gambit was in it for most of the run.

The stuff with FF/Spidey has been good. Can't say I didn't see this coming though. She'll be on Avengers Academy for a bit so its a win win for me. Its only a matter of time before she ends up in WATXM.

Readers scoping out CBR's coming advance look at Marvel Comics February X-Title solicitations will notice one omission: the "X-23" solo title.

CBR News has learned that the monthly comic starring Wolverine's clone daughter has been canceled. Reached for comment, a spokesman for Marvel would not confirm the end of the series but did say that writer Marjorie Liu has more work to come from the House of Ideas.

The move comes on the heels of several abrupt cancellations earlier this month for titles including "Victor Von Doom," "Alpha Flight" and "Destroyers." However, while those projects were either miniseries that weren't yet published or solicited or one that saw its planned launch as a monthly scuttled, "X-23" presents a different case entirely. Aside from being an established monthly title, the comic is currently Marvel's only ongoing starring a female lead and the one written by arguably their most recognized female writer in Liu.

In a recent installment of his AXEL-IN-CHARGE column on CBR, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso noted that cancellations of titles like "Alpha Flight" came in part due to "new budgetary mandates" while the publisher is bolstering its line in a tough economy by shipping extra installments of it core series in 2012. In that light it is important to note two things. Firstly, at #104 on Diamond's Sale Estimates for October books, "X-23" was not the lowest-shipping Marvel Universe series. Behind it were such comics as "Thunderbolts," "X-Factor," "Avengers Academy" and "Ghost Rider" amongst others. Secondly, in the new X-Title solicitations no less than seven books will ship two issues in February including "Uncanny X-Men" and "Wolverine & The X-Men."

Fans of the X-23 character can take heart in one respect, however. The character will beginning to appear regularly in "Avengers Academy" starting in January's issue #24 as well as take part in the upcoming "Venom" mini event.

Lol. Love the ''Don't fret fans of character with a better selling book! She'll be in another book that's likely to get cancelled too!"

thats too bad bc its one of the best books out there

Hmmmm, I don't know about that. It started out shaky then stabilized a little too late.

I don't think she's moving from one cancelled book to another. Marvel has show a lot of support for Avengers Academy. Besides, there's only 4 books in the Avengers line, whereas there's too many in the X-Men line. With the launch of WATXM, cancelling X-23 is an easy move. Daken is probably next. A shame too, because that book is well written. Rob Williams is a talented guy.

X-23 > Daken.

Honestly, I don't know what book you were reading, but it was a solid read all the way through and I honestly think she probably went first because she's a female character. They never catch a break. The fact Marvel will no longer have a female ongoing is laughable.

If they changed her book to X-men Legacy (starring X-23), her book would still be around

This frustrates me. I wonder if this is a move to 1) trim the X-Men line for Wolverine & the X-Men, and 2) to try to pull a few sales onto Academy by forcing fans of the character to buy her there.

Otherwise why cancel this when there's 4 other ongoings selling less? It was a good book!

I'm expecting heat though due to their lack of focus on female leads. DC gets all the slack but at least they're giving good effort to make females strong and important in their universe, including several solo titles. Marvel lacks in that BIG TIME.

If Marvel needed to trim the fight on the X-line then AXM and X-men both need to go. The bottom line is sales for X-23 werent great which is a shame bc its very well written with great art

I agree... buy why cancel a $4 book when you can cancel a $3 book? ;)

X-23 was very well written though. It was probably the best Gambit's been written in years... a decade maybe.

X23 is far most interesting than frikkin Daken... and it had Gambit in it! :cmad:

You people aren't making any sense. Gambit being in it would be a bad thing

I'm just flabbergasted that Thunderbolts and Avengers Academy don't sell as well as X-23. :csad:

Well, apparently it's good.....and Gambit being in it is a plus.
