Yes, I agree.

But have you ever heard anyone say "Michael Jordan...SO not a favorite of mine"?

No. Because he had 15 years of awesome. :o

But he didn't keep playing 10-15 more years saying "Watch, I still got it!". He played like 2 games for the Wizards and was like "Yeah, I'm done for real this time."

Also, for someone to say Claremont isn't a favorite of theirs they most likely never read his 70s-80s X-Men and doesn't realize what he contributed to the franchise, or straight up didn't like him to begin with. I say the same thing about Morrison all the time.

I think you're having a different conversation than I am. I already said I agree with you. :o

Now that makes sense.

Shame on you for Morrison, though. :o

I can see his good ideas, I enjoy an issue every now and then, but no I don't like his writing style.

His writi style has changed multiple times throughout his career, though. :o

He also did some great work on Marvel Team-Up vol 1 and Marvel Tales, doing a lot of good stories involving Spider-Man.

Claremont is a guilty pleasure of mine...I'll read anything he writes

He's written all three of my favorite characters: X-Men, Batman, and Spider-Man. As a whole I didn't like either of his runs on the first two. I didn't even know he touched the last until reading runaway's post just now, and knowing doesn't make interested in the slightest or for anything else he's done for that matter.

whhaaaaaat.....i understand not liking his later runs but Claremont's first run on X-men is legendary

Eh, I don't particularly like the X-Men in general. :o

Batman and Robin was incredible. As was All-Star Superman, JLA, Animal Man, We3, Seven Soldiers, The Invisibles and now Action Comics. :o

I liked Action for about 3 issues then I dropped it. To each his own.

Maybe half of Seven Soldiers was good.

I slowly lost interest. I liked the first and seeing the interrogation in the second, then I started losing interest after that. By the time they explored his origin and that piece in the end with the future Superman and whoever he was with I just didn't care. Plus I'm not a big Supes fan to begin with.

Part of it was but it was consistently great for that entire stint. I didn't the book all that interesting for a long stretch of the mid to late 80s
