X-Men - Part 4

So, if you are Beast, and you have access to time travel, instead of going back in time to get the original teenage X-Men, why not go back in time and have a sit-down with the Avengers and X-Men and tell them what is about to go down, since you are the one man both teams would trust?
He's not upset about Avengers vs. X-Men, he's been worried about the road Cyclops has been traveling down since after Messiah Complex. He left the X-Men after Utopia because he was tired of the secrets and felt betrayed no one saved him from Osborn.

Not to mention changing the past alters the future he's already lived. Affecting the present isn't near as burdensome. Yeah, he's creating an alternate Earth by bringing the X-Men forward (or not, if they eventually return mindwiped) but he's not changing anything in the main 616. I could see his reasoning there.

I can't stand Beast. I remember when the character used to actually be fun, but all he ever seems to be these days is grumpy, a downer and always complaining about something. I wish he'd go back into the past and find his 90s self

Beast complained about Cyclops using a secret X-Force team as a death squad yet Wolverine does the same thing except when logan tries to tell him about it Beast says he doesn't want to know :whatever:

because at least Wolverine reasoned with Beast, and gave him the school to do whatever he wants with, basically.

Cyclops didn't reason with him, he just said, essentially, "f**k you, Hank, don't question me"

or go back in time to when Scott started to go dark and warn him

Sometimes that's just what the leader has to do.

I don't really see a difference between how Wolverine and Cyclops handled X-force. It's not like Cyclops didn't tell Beast what purpose X-force served. Wolverine got a free pass on X-force because he's Wolverine.

X-Force is a bad idea all around, no matter who's running it. I just like talking trash about Cyclops. :oldrazz:

I wonder how the Psylocke/Storm X-force will fare

I am also wondering why Cyclops never went up to Beast and said "hey, can I borrow your time machine real quick?" and then went back to blast Scarlet Witch's head off before she said "No More Mutants". I'm sure he at least thought about it.

Didn't the Scarlet Witch's shenanigans turn out to be time-travel-proof back when Beast was wandering around looking for her and asking various others for help on fixing M-Day?

ah, that would make sense... at least as much as other things in comic books make sense

I don't remember time travel coming up during Endangered Species. Alternate realities, yes. Time travel, I'm drawing a blank.

But then, Marvel's writers became willfully blind to a ton of different solutions to M-Day. Nobody tried time travel, everybody forgot about the Earth-Alpha machine they used to give She-Hulk back her powers, nobody tried any powerful magicks to create new mutants (Strange said Wanda's spell was too woven into reality to undo without unraveling everything, but nobody said anything about casting a "more mutants" spell on top of it), and Forge was the only person who tried to create a new X-gene in the canonically questionable post-Whedon Astonishing X-Men.

Going back in time doesnt change the present. It just creates a new alternate timeline. Besides stopping SW from uttering those words could have created something worse; something they couldnt have predicted.

Probably turning everybody on the planet into Carrot Top.

Jersey Shore taking over the Earth! Oh wait that did happen.....

Honey Boo Boo replacing Wolverine

Isn't it funny how wolverine almost never actually hits people with his claws, but people hit him all the time. His healing factor has made him careless. ;)
