X-Men - Part 4

To me Beast was the worst part of this. I thought they were coming back accidentally but he intentionally brings them. Why the heck is he messing with the timestream? He should know better

Its to do with him wanting to make things better for mutantkind before he dies. I imagine he thinks bringing them back to stop Scott would be that

But he's messing with the timestream and he knows that can have disastrous effects. He just may be making things worse. It was a very foolish move on his part. What if he cant bring them back? What if they are injured or killed in the present? The very fact that they now have knowledge of things they shouldnt be aware of is bad enough. Theres too many variable. Scott is supposed to just change bc he sees his past self? He is grown and knows he was naive and didnt have the life experience back then that he does now. I dont see him listening bc he's done what he's done not bc he wants to, but bc he feels its been necessary to adjust with how the world has changed around him. 60s teen Scott cant comprehend and truly understand what its like to be Scott in 2012

He's a desperate man, his evolution is making him that way

Why is Cyclops going to cause a mutant genocide? Will it just be the result of human reaction to Cyclops' radical actions?

Cyclops is basically doing what he did in X-Factor rescuing young mutants except he is not being covert about it.

Characters always fail to know better when the plot demands it, unfortunately.
This. :(

I am still wondering how Cyke is not in a lock up? Did he escape or what? (Clearly I missed something in one fthe other X-books).

He was arrested at the end of AvX and Consequences highlighted his stay in prison. In the final issue, the Extinction team broke him out

Wasn't Danger part of the break out team? Why is she not with them now. and beast really feels that way?? ugh..I really am not liking his direction. and the O5 need to go home..and promptly have their minds erased by prof. X (he is great at that)

Danger said she was going her own way. She is very anti being controlled/used now.

Beast is also motivated by the fact that he thinks he's dying. So at least he's trying to help. I'm sure he knows what he's doing... we'll see.

Wow, not that you mentioned this, I guess this will soon be apart of Xavier's ever growing retconned history. He probably did erase their minds which is why they dont recall coming to the future. Guess that makes sense. Its what Karma did to the teenage New Mutants when they jumped to present day

That sounds about right.

New writer - "I plan on using Chamber."

Me - "Yay!"

Marvel - "Canceled!"

Lol, I totally visualized a huge red CANCELLED stamp when I read that.

That should be the next Marvel NOW teaser. CANCELLED.

Welcome to "Brian Michael Bendis writes your favorite characters." Enjoy your stay; longtime Avengers fans sure didn't. :oldrazz:

I plan to because, let's be honest, X-Men's pretty much been in the dumps since Morrison round abouts 10 years ago. It hit it's low after Decimation through Faction's run, and has only started rebounding since Schism. Characters have already been raped, killed off, written out of character, and continuity has been ignored, changed, or erased. If Bendis does what all these Bendis-haters accuse him of doing (over and over and over and over again)... it'll just feel like another issue of X-Men.

So yeah, Bendis writing X-Men isn't the end of the world. It's either more of the same or an improvement. Judging by the first issue, so far it's an improvement.

You say that now, but just wait until Wolverine goes on a killing spree because his fiance Mariko died YEARS ago, and Dr. Strange shows up to tell everyone that there's no such thing as adamantium.

You're right, the X-Men franchise is in much worse shape already than the Avengers franchise was before Bendis came along. But however bad things are, there's always something worse. Bendis has a knack for finding that. ;)

I really only like him for his Ultimate Spider-Man work
