The new X-Men courtesy of Brian Wood, and the always good Oliver Coipel:

And I am totally into this idea. I was hoping for the distant chance of Lifeguard being on the team but I'll take this. I'm not usually into female books. Not that I have anything against them, they just don't really call out to me. But I love the X-women so I'll definately be giving this book a shot, especially with Coipel on art (for only the first arc I'm sure).

Plus, I like John Sublime

This looks absolutely terrific. Great roster, and great talent behind it. Will definitely be picking this up.

of all the X-books coming out of Marvel Now, this one looks the most interesting

Man that's hot and I love that Storm and Psylocke's UXF costumes have crossed over

LOL though at an all female cast being called X-Men

Is Jubilee still a vampire?

Yeah, I thought that was funny. I also thought it was funny that they mentioned one of the things in the comic is sex... in a cast of all women. I doubt it means what that sounds like but the inner 15 year old smiled a little.

Yeah. Last we saw her she left the X-Men to live with the Forgiven, or Forgotten, or whatever that group of good vampires are called. Essentially the Cullens of Twilight.

While I know many didn't care for it, I thought the whole storyline with Jubilee becoming a vampire was very good. From the Blood of the Mutants arc to the Wolverine & Jubilee mini, to her appearances in X-23 to the final arc staring her... I thought it was all a very interesting update to her character.

She's gone from a bit of a joke who can make fireworks to someone who could hold her own in a one-on-one with Wolverine, verying powerful abilities, a dark streak, etc. I think it was a great addition to the character and I'm glad to see it's not been a dropped story after the original writer left the franchise.

Yeah, I liked her as a vamp as well. I just didn't know if the next writer took it back is all. That seems to happen a lot. :p

I'm pretty sure she's not been touched since Gischler left the book. I was thinking about her recently actually and hoping she doesn't go back into limbo like she did after Generation X ended. She had a few small roles in Chuck Austen's run and then vanished. She played a big role in the completely forgetable New Warriors run by that Garavioux or whatever his name was, but then that was ignored. This Vampire thing's put her back on the map and I hope it sticks for the eventual (imaginary but still hopeful) Generation X reunion! :awesome:

This title actually sounds really refreshing. Cyclops vs. Wolverine gets very tiring.

I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand I have no problem with an all-female cast, and they happen to have all of my favorite women on that cover. On the other I don't really need ANOTHER X-book. And it may just be me, but I would've prefered it if they called this book something else (Amazing X-Men?) and kept the adjectiveless title for when 'All-New' became old and they could rename it. I just think it fits better than the plain, simple name is reserved for the standard/flag title.

You're right in the sense that we really don't need this many X-books, just like we don't need so many Avengers books (in some cases, like Avengers Arena, they are just e throwing the word "Avengers" into the title because that is the popular thing right now, even though the book seems to have very little to do with Avengers at all). We don't need two X-Force books or five X-Men books, but I guess as long as these things sell, we'll keep getting them.

I think the glut of X-Men characters has gotten so bad over the years that having less than 3 X-titles feels like you're leaving a majority of the cast in limbo.

I'd get this for Coipel but I could see him bailing on it after the first 5 issues.

Uncanny X-men
All New X-men
X-men
Wolverine and the X-men
Astonishing X-men
X-treme X-men
X-men Legacy

That is a ton of books with X-men in the title. I guess Legacy at least is focused on one character although the team is there in a supporting capacity. This doesnt even include the two X-force titles which are pretty much X-men books as well

I don't mind this book staying around, and the cast is interesting. I kinda just wish there was at least one of the more "lesser-known" female characters included in the cast, as probably everyone in the pic is pretty well known to even the casual X-Men reader. I would have loved to see someone like Blink, Lifeguard, Boom Boom, or even Frenzy included.

I understand why it was done though. One article called it the A-list X-women. Having a team book featuring an all female cast is very risky and new territory for the franchise. They kinda straddled the fence with the old series but it did still have Colossus and Warpath. They are putting their major guns in this book in hopes that it doesnt flop. They may feel throwing C listers wont allow it to have as strong a chance as it could.

Psylocke and Storm are the main draws for me. If I were to do a 6 member female team, it would be

Storm
Psylocke
M
Moonstar
Polaris
X-23

Uncanny X-men
All New X-men
X-men
Wolverine and the X-men
Astonishing X-men
X-treme X-men
X-men Legacy

I forgot all about X-Treme and Astonishing.

Plus, written by Wood!

I bailed out of getting All-New X-Men because it was twice a month and $3.99, and will probably not check out Uncanny since I'm guessing it and All-New will crossover a lot. I may check this out. I like Wood pretty well and most of these characters. Mohawk Storm is always hot, too. Let's just hope they get the eating out orgy out of the way soon, so we can get on with the main story.

What, I know I'm not the only one thinking it...

That looks awesome.

Will def be adding that to the pull. Hope Wood and Humphries make sure their books are a bit in sync with eachother.

I skimmed that at the store and just couldn't get myself to buy it. The cover alone was so off-putting.
