What?! Greg Land's art is terrible for storytelling. There's barely any flow from one panel to the next whenever he's on pencil duties.

He does tend to make every panel almost a splash page/money shot but id easily take it over this.

Um, you do realize that all that porny looking art is from a one shot special by Claremont that came out years ago that we've been talking about since Havok posted its cover and has absolutely nothing to do with the new all female team book, right?

He's slow, though. He's never been great at getting books out on time. Personally, I'd be fine with waiting an extra month to get a book as pretty as Coipel makes, though.

Hey, it's like a sterile, censored and less sticky version of my twelve year old fanfiction. I think my fanfic had a lot more punch in it, though.

But damn, seriously, I can't believe Marvel actually published that haha. I guess I can, but wow. Needless to say, I expect more from Wood.

ANX keeps getting better and better. Todays issue was great. LOVED the scenes with Kitty, Jean and Storm. So Jean is the new leader? Love it! I think Bendis is doing a great job with the characterization of all the characters. The stuff with young Scott and Wolverine was also good. Oh and I loved the new artist. Is he rotating or just a guest stint?

Bendis is the first person in a long time to actually write these characters as if they like each other. The recent history of the X-men was so focused on the militant scenario of survival, and as much as I loved the Uncanny relaunch with Gillen, it was a team of people who were jaded and untrusting. Wolverine and the X-men helped lift the ultra-serious tone of the Messiah Complex/Second Coming days, but is too "crazy" and "zany" to feel any meaningful emotion. I'm really happy that Bendis is using Jean to establish the family feel and create an engaging soap opera that is super enjoyable.

the issue felt very character driven and IA on Jean and bringing back the family feel. I get a sense that these characters care about each other and I like the interactions we are getting. Like Kitty and Jean. They never had much of anything to do with each other before and it was sort of addressed when Jean asked if they were friends and Kitty avoided the question.

Its kinda bad that Archangel is no longer around. Now that would have been quite a shock for teen Angel

Nothing that I can recall. By the time Kitty's parents enrolled her in the school, Jean was dead. By the time Jean returned, Kitty was already long gone and in Excalibur. When Kitty finally rejoined the team, Jean went into semi-retirement in Alaska. When Jean returned to the X-men as part of Revolution, Kitty was on the other team and was written out in the first issue. She doesnt rejoin the team until Jean is killed off. Jean being tough must have happened off panel bc we didnt really see them serve as X-men together for much. I guess Jean could have been tough on her during the 6 month gap, although I cant figure why

Xavier trained every single one of the original X-men and many more and Jean is the only one who's power he shared. Not to mention he couldnt be physical bc he was in a wheelchair. You dont need to have similar abilities in order to train one. Jean training Kitty though would be odd bc they never served on the same lineup ever. The 6 month gap during Revolution was the only time they were both at the mansion as active X-men at the same time and by this point Kitty was an adult with quite a few years of experience under her belt. Jean wasnt around her during her teen years, when she was being trained by the other various X-men

Scott REALLY needs to be single for a while. Ever since he got with Jean back in the 60s, he's never been single for more than 5 minutes. Really though, he literally hops from one woman to the next within a matter of weeks, sometimes days

Back in the 1980s Kitty said Illyana kept a bunch of Playgirl magazines under her bed. So I'd assume she is straight.

Archangel and Husk were only slightly creepy. Warren was in his late 20's, and Paige was 19. It's weird enough to make you turn your head and talk behind their backs, but legal enough that you'd watch it play out.

Scott's gotta be at least 30 by now. Although Illyana is physically around 20, she'd only be like 12 if living in Limbo hadn't aged her.

Words cannot express how much I detest Bachalo's art at times. This is just bad. From the one new girl's horrible hoochie looking uniform, to Magneto's albino look that just questions how he's even supposed to see, so Magik's soulsword going from having a classic Arthurian quality to it, to looking like something Cloud Strife would whip out in the middle of a FF7 battle. Ugh.
