X-Men - Part 5

yeah, and didn't danger have some freaky techno crush on Warlock at some point?
we may be in store for the weirdest sex scene ever

I actually like Danger's character, but please don't play her off as sexy. She needs to be the emotionless robot she started out as. Her pose just weirds me out.

Also, I might have rather them have put Karima on this team than Danger. Danger should have been on Cyclops' X-Men, as it seems her emotionless personality would be more fitting with them.

Plus Karima is awesome, and they can play her off as sexy all they want.

Danger, Doug Ramsey/Cypher and Warlock.

Those last two haven't been confirmed, where'd you hear that?

Wood apparently has big plans for Karima over on the adjectiveless X-Men book, so she likely wasn't even available even if PAD wanted her.

Don't remember anything about Warlock at all, but Madison Jeffries/Box definitely had the hots for her.

Anyone else excited about Nightcrawler in heaven fighting his dad? Seems like it will be a good read

I'm glad Nightcrawler is back but I hate that the writers still acknowledge Azazel because that means "The Draco" is still canon and I hated that story.

Now that BoTA is over, the All New X-men is back on track! This was the best X-book Ive read in months. Bendis did good as it was solid from beginning to end and tons of good character interaction moments, especially Kitty/Illyana and Jean/Cuckoos. I give it an A

As for the inquiries about the costumes, they made their debut this issue. Illyana gave them to the team and these are their new permanent ones, not space suits they get from the Guardians of the Galaxy. I don't like that Bobby and Scott have the same color scheme. Id at least given Scott a darker shade of blue

Copiel is one of the best artist to draw the X-men. I love his Jean

Thank god! Oh wait, it'll probably be relaunched in May

This news makes my decision to start reading Amazing X-Men a whole lot easier.

bummed on WatXM, it started off so good, then event books screwed it

and I'm sorry, Immonen's a great artists, but those costumes are just... i dunno.. ugly, unrelated to the characters, they don't match to any other x-costumes, they fit right in with the guardians generic space ranger outfits, but not the earth based x-costumes, and what's with kid beast's lame goggles, is he a speedster all of a sudden??

I wonder if the Sexual harassment accusations against Brian Wood will lead to Marvel pulling him off X-Men due to the negative publicity?

IDA on the costumes. I think they look great. I only wish they had the X near the chest instead of pelvis and Bobby/Scott had received different colors. At first I thought they were all the same costumes, but with different colors but each one is individualized and that's a neat touch. As far as being unrelated to the characters, that's not entirely true as they were created with inspiration from their past, namely X-factor. I didn't get that link at first but someone on this forum pointed it out. Red/white is a color scheme that Warren has worn in a good number of his costumes since the O5 days. Ditto with Bobby and the light blue/white, which is what Scott wore during that time. Jean's look harkens back to her Marvel Girl, Phoenix and X-factor costumes, although I think it should have included yellow to make that more apparent. Beast's second X-factor costume was predominantly orange. The colors weren't just chosen at random.

Hank wears glasses. They could very well be there to help with his vision. Besides, he has a history of wearing goggles in the past (Revolution, X-treme X-men). I wouldn't be surprised if those were more than just visual aid, but rather had tech to help him compute and process data, kinda like Prodigy

I haven't been on here much lately. I have to catch up on some of my X-men thoughts.

BotA wasn't horrible, but I think it's greatest weakness was the unclear motivation of the "Brotherhood." I know Dazzler was assassinated, but what sparked the formation of the Brotherhood and why would sending the 05 back change things how they wanted? I personally liked the future X-men (Wizard Iceman eff ya!) and liked the Jean and Cyclops stuff, but it just fizzled. I also didn't care to see another iteration of Jean Grey go crazy and die. It almost worked, with the idea that Jean became warped in part by the idealization of those around her, but it never really got there.

I could care less about the new students at the Xavier Academy. Uncanny has had plenty of time to sell me on that school and the students and has completely failed. However, I'm excited to have Cyclops, Emma, Jean, Kitty, the Cuckoos, and Magik all in the same place.

I'm so indifferent to WatX getting cancelled. I stopped reading it, and I'm even iffy on Amazing X-men. I'm just not feeling Aaron's X-men at all. The solicitation for the last issue of WatX said that they're ending the story of the Jean Grey School. Will the JGS stay open? I really hope so.

The last issue of ANXM was alright. Kitty and Illyana reconciled without really talking about why their friendship fell apart. I liked the Jean/Cuckoos dynamic quite a bit, but I can't help feeling like Jean Grey used to be on par with having dynamics with Emma, Cyclops, Storm, etc and now she's relegated to the status of the Cuckoos. Does Jean need to be entangled with every boy from the 05? My god that's annoying. I absolutely loved hearing Beast and Cyclops' thoughts and wish Jean would have telepathically ***** slapped them. I love that Jean is learning to fly, but the Angel stuff was too much. Watch out Bobby.

I really like the new costumes. Well most of them. Jean, Cyclops (although I think he should be wearing a darker blue), and Angel look great. I'm not sold on Beast's goggles, and Bobby's doesn't really matter since he's iced up most times anyway. While I'm still liking the 05 I can't help wish they were just their older counterparts. I don't particularly care for reading about teenagers anymore.

I'm looking forward for the Trial of Jean Grey because I like it when Jean is centre stage and it's good to see the 05 ganging up with some unlikely allies.

He apparently has a rep of sexually harassing women in the industry. So far only one woman has come forward but she claims that she's met other women in the biz that has had similar experiences with him like she did. Wood is admitting to making a cheesy attempt at hitting on her but denies any other wrongdoing.

So far at worst Wood has come out of it looking like a bit of a Ass**** because he came on to a woman with a boyfriend (while he possibly had a wife and kid at home?) Tess Fowler's says she forgave him but it was a symptom of a wider culture was of sexual harassment culture and misogyny in the comic industry.

Well duh, just look at how they treat women in the comics. :o
