Gen X aren't from an alternate reality though.

Technically yes they are as anything originally616 is an alternate reality/timeline to the new Marvel Universe that was created at the end of Secret Wars. They definitely are in context to the time displaced O5

Secret Wars confused the crap out of me. Didn't Reed create a whole new universe from scratch? As in there wouldn't be a 616 at all? It was wiped out of existence wasn't it?

Pretty much. 616 was destroyed in the first issue of SW. Battleworld was a weird amagalm of multiple fractured universes. At the end Reed made a new MU and modled it after 616, but it isnt 616. The new MU for the most part retains most of original 616's history (most of the events still happened) but its incorporated characters from the remnants of Battleworld such as Miles Morales, Old Man Logan, Goblyn Queen, Jimmy Hudson, all of whom originated in other universes. The end of All New X-men v2 suggested that the time displaced O5 are also Secret Wars survivors as we learned that the O5 never left the past in this new MU

BOTA X-men means Ice Wizard, Sorcerer Supreme Wiccan, and Phoenix Quentin! I get how they're not everyone's cup of tea but I thought these three were pretty neat.

I didn't like them at first, but I grew to enjoy the BoTA X-Men. I'm glad to hear they're making a comeback.

The BoTA X-men were at least better than the BoTA Brotherhood. I dont think anyone was a fan of Xavier and Mystique's kid or Wolverine and Mystique's kid lol. Although I thought Xorn-Jean could have been really interesting.

My bad, its actually the BoTA Brotherhood in the previews (Beast, Deadpool, Xavier, Molly, Ice-Thing). I still think that Jimmy is Raze in disguise, sent to infilitrate the team

ahh too bad. But considering the rumours that Storm's daughter would join the team and Iceman reference Ice Wizard in his comics I wouldn't be surprised if they became relevant too.

I'm confused about the Gen X appearing in this. I thought Chamber/Jubilee are already appearing in that X book. So the one appearing in Blue are the 90sversion just time traveling?

Blue is about time and reality hopping. This will be past versions from the 90s era

Generation X kinda fell off my radar because of the art. Maybe I should give it another try.

The art is still horrid and it doesn't have any sort of Generation X feel. It still feels like a Wolverine & the X-Men student book with Jubilee popping in for an occasional panel. I still like it because you do see some Generation X members here and there (M currently being involved a little bit), but it's just not been good or Generation X-like at all.

It seems to me that the art at Marvel overall has been lacking of late. At least in the titles I read.

Blue has inconsistent art but is sometimes very good. Iceman has consistent art and it tells a story, but it's not the most beautiful work I've seen. Gold started off with awful art but it got better. Jean Grey has had great art. And Astonishing has a different superstar artist each issue. The X-book art has been all over the place, but I guess it could be worse.

Blue #11 was pretty darn good. I hope Bloodstorm sticks around until the real Storm gets written by someone who cares about her.

That came from a leak so maybe this is all too spoilery?

But regardless, this is the most excited I've ever been over a comic. This is a huge friggin deal. I'm personally happy she gets her own comic to come back in, it should be a big X-men event. Jean's my fave character and she died when I was 13. I never thought this would happen, after years and years of trolling her return. I'm still somehow skeptical though...

Anyways Jean coming back is an event and bigger than the current ongoings IMO. She's been dead and this has been teased and hyped so much to warrant it over the past 12 years

Where'd you guys hear all this? I'll remain skeptic until the moment I read it, but you have me curious. Jean had always been one of my favorite characters and I HATE how long she's been gone.

Apparently Marvel's December solicitations were leaked and one of the books is "Phoenix Resurrection: the Return of Jean Grey." It's not posted anywhere official.
