Right... i really REALLY hope that this doesnt bleed over in to the X-Comics too much. Sure Colosus could be a skrull, because the whole body swapping story was a bit random but theres some REALLY big problems with making the X-Men members skrulls.
First and most arguable reason, the X-Men dont just have tecnology to scan people, they have ridiculously sophisticated technolog from the Shi'Ar, who have fought Skrull before and would be well aware of any techniques to find them with scanners.
Next we have the irrefutable reasons... the X-Men have had the 3 most powerful telepaths IN THE WORLD in their midst over the last few years.
If Emma is a Skrull, that would mean that Phoenix.. an all powerful telepathic/telekinetic being, stripped down her mind, pieced together her broken body, repaired her, brought her back to life, scanned her entire mind, and just didn't happen to notice that she happened to be a Skrull. This is daft. If Emma has been a skrull this whole time it will frankly be a pretty embarassing move on Marvels part.

That's right a Skrull could never ever ever ever ever replace a team member like say "Wolverine" have him hang around with three of the worl'd most powerful telepaths like say "Jean Grey, Nate Grey and Cable". They'd find out he's a skrull right away!!!!

Skrulls have infiltrated the X-Men in the past, they can do it again, especially now that they have been disbanded... curious isn't it, they were disbanded when the skrulls first infiltrated, and now disbanded again... there's certainly at least one skrull in their midst.

Mutant Skrulls mate, maybe she was a mutant skrull that didn't got the "I stay the way I look when I die" gen, or the other way around and that fake Logan had that mutant gene

Or maybe it was how they died... perhaps Skrullektra didn't have the training Wolverskrull had and she was surprised when she died and turned back into her original form with her last dying thoughts...

And the only reason why 'Ro would be is if the eds wanna wuss out like spineless wimps out of the BP debacle. But then again, I suppose it would be more PC than having the sole black power couple go through a nasty divorce.

You'll notice somewhat of a hateful blind spot whenever Summers is concerned. Anyway, I've got Pryde's death and Nova not popping up in AXM waiting in the wings. You've got both Cyke and Storm being skrulls.

You tell me who's got the most promising score sheet, hon.

I've disappeared from Hype, hardly even lurk anymore... dunno why... but even I have to weigh in on this.

If they start skrulling the X-men then well... I may not have much of a reason to read the comics anymore. Am I nerd raging? Think whatever makes you feel comfortable. But to be told that say, the Scott-Emma relationship was a lie, or that Wolverine was really evil this whole time or that Beast was not even Emma, but a mole, would be close to morally offensive. It is one thing Whedon to say, Emma is naturally selfish and treacherous-- that is born out of her character, but for that not to have been Emma is silly in my mind. How do I reconcile all the character "growth" and advancement many of these characters have had over the ages? Would we have to redo Civil War? Will all the people who show up after being "skrulled away" be like "we would have been with Cap or we would have been with Tony?"

Also, for me, and I enjoy the X-men-- don't get me wrong-- no single character stands out to me, except for maybe Emma. I have to enjoy the X-men as a team. I can imagine the JLA split up, because I can always enjoy Batman, for who he is. But for me the X-men is a singular, gestalt entity. I like people in the x-men in relation and proportion to the characters they interact with. (I hope I'm making sense.) I think Emma is at her best with certain interactions, for example. To say, that's not Emma isn't exciting, it's just maddening. Same would go for Beast.

I can accept that I may need to grow up. I won't say that I'll drop Marvel, but I'll probably be a lot less excited if they go to crazy with the skrulls, and depending on who they skrull, I will be a lot less willing to get back issues. I don't think Ms Marvel's a skrull, but why read Ms Marvel if it isn't her right? Why go back and grab back issues and not read that character?
